I bought a new computer, I am not a computer geek, therefore I have XP
and not some godly super-studly version of Linux. I don't have the
time, patience, or skills, so yes, I am a sell-out to Bill Gates, and
although yes, I think Macs are nice, no, I haven't bought one. A Mac
will be my second computer when I have disposable income. I like
Pine, but I currently find it somewhat convenient to use Outlook and
other MS products that came with the computer. I may install other
freeware/shareware when it is worth it.
Sooo.. you are entitled to your opinions, but that's where I'm stuck
right now.
Anyway-- to announcements.. a week and counting to the birth.

Re 300 read 298. The handles appear to be hickory. I don't know how someone
managed to break one, at the thickest not the thinnest point.

My son and I have returned from Tennessee, where I spent the last
several days visiting my brother and his family. We saw the Nashville
Zoo (pretty but sparsely populated, however they have a 10 year plan
for expanding it which started just this year). We also visited the
wonderful Chattanooga Aquarium.
I'm beat right now; it was stormy through most of Kentucky and up
through Cincinnati. That combined with an 11 hour drive as the sole
driver and sole entertainment for a 5 year old means today was quite a
day. I hope to recover by tomorrow, when I return to work.

The e-mail about the dangerous jdbgmgr.exe file is a hoax.
It's a Java Debugger.

It's the Tennessee Aquarium at Chattanooga, officially, I think. Yes,
the displays of the different kinds of fish found along the Tennessee
River are remarkable. There's also a seahorse exhibit, which I take it
is pretty new; it's a special section of the aquarium and I believe it
was in a different building, but I'm too befuddled to remember such
things right now.

I've said off and on for the past 4 years that I'm going to shave my head,
just to do it once and see what its like. The right time just never comes...
I need a time where I won't be any direct Anna to child contact, and hwere
I don't have a job that prohibits head shaving. Heh.

no, Carrie, some gals would look *bad*.. it really doesn't work for
everyone. For that matter, it wouldn't work for all guys.
It worked for me-- ask around with those who met Julie and I.

Wouldn't work for me. It is one of the laws of the universe that my head
should be covered at all times by a thick layer of hair.

We got a friend's pentium computer working with Netscape. It only took five
hours and requires entering two passwords, continuing despite a violation
error every time you dial, and having to learn to double click.
Got someone else set up with Jim's best mountain bike (shortened somewhat by
changing seat and post and handlebars and cables) and her friend will build
one out of our parts.
10 hours.
