Let me try! Tell me how to get there, and I'll tell you if it works for
newbies!

The web dictionaries that I had used that had the wildcard feature appear
to all have become proprietary - requiring IDs and PWs. Can anyone refer
us to one that still works?

The two I have used are the Hypertext Webster Interface at
        http://gs213.sp.cs.cmu.edu/prog/webster
and the Merriam-Webster Dictionary at
        http://www.m-w.com/netdict.htm
but neither one of them has "etamin". :)

(BTW I got to both of those from
        http://www.yahoo.com/Reference/Dictionaries/English
.)

Oops, too eager. Hold that response until someone else answers.

Thanks, Mark. Actually, I had one of them, but because it failed on
etamin, I included that it didn't take wildcards.

Both the dictionaries I referenced do take expressions like "eta*", but I
don't think they get any fancier than that, and they don't appear to be as
complete as one would like when playing this game.
