a slow steady stream
washes cold across my face
sending sparks of extacy
racing across my being
the extacy fades
and the cold remains
as my eyes blink to wakefullness
I find myselfnot where I belong
but where I have come
all the same
the air holds too much moisture
and the heat will soon rise
sending me into delerium
for now though
the cold spray has energized me
I have been walking
today I will walk again
through this urban dreamscape
plodding my slow course
correcting every misstep
with two more in the right direction
slowly I am carried
by too worn feet
to a destination I no longer recall
when I began it was with purpose
now I've no purpose left
save to place one leaden foot
squarely in front of the other
paying no mind placing no care
on where this will end
simply ignoring the growing pain
that cripples my legs
as I collapse each night
without thought of shelter
or need of companionship
I lay myself down
covered in the underbrush
down beside the tracks
hoping that tomorrow comes

the morning rises crisp
bright against the backdrop
of half closed eyelids
today the moisture fades
and my memory clears
it's no longer a suprise
in these moments of clarity
to find myself filthy
crawling with parasites
and smelling of long dead flesh
the clarity fades quickly
only staying long enough
to remind me to hate what I've become
again I am walking
my aim is as staright and true
at the thin rails of rusting metal
on either side of my feet
I find myself fantasizing
hoping beyond dreams
that one day I will reach that point
where the rails colide
and fade into nothingness

which doesn't change it at all but to make the correction i mentioned
in resp:2 and put it all together

yeah....I think that's as "done" as its gonna get for a while
