Mom in and out of jail with a meth problem (though is currently trying to stay
clean) and Dad is in jail on drug possession charges. One aunt has youngest,
other family members not great placements.

re #288 napping and cross-stiching? Anne you sound more and more like an old
lady every day :) You'd be right at home in a senior citizens center. :)

re #297 didnt you see the smilies? sheesh...I relax by reading and
doing SuDoku puzzles (SuDoku being maddingly addictive), and by
websurfing/blogging.

Re 296, Hey, Staci naps and cross-stitches and she is only 18. Sometimes when
you have a full life you need to nap. Studies have shown that a power nap
in the afternoon makes for a more productive person. Other studies have shown
that stitching lowers the blood pressure and stress levels. I find those to
be advantageous at any age.

And stitching with cats can be an aerobic excersize... And just because
I feel like showing off, the below link is to one of my finished pieces:

Cross-stitching, it's not just samplers anymore... A woman in Texas just
spent 10 years working on a Sistene Chapel stitch project that she
designed herself.

re #301 thats a nice cross-stitch, it looks like a scene from Pride and
Prejudice or something

It is a nice cross stitch. But it looks more like a scene from an E.M.
Forster novel than an Austin one

It's a Dimensions gold kit titled "Summer Stroll." It's more Victorian
than Edwardian (P&P era).

Everyone has a cold this week. It gets a bit better after a few days but
lingers. I am happy that we rearranged my living room/office this evening,
got rid of a lot of old screws and dust and a printer that won't print, and
Jim now has a desk where he can keep things instead of piling them in other
places, and print instead of trying to use my computer and my printer which
feeds all the sheets at a time. He just gave up on one that won't feed any.

e-filed returns were accepted by both the State and Feds.

It'll be soon, whenever it is--possibley as soon as March.

resp:309 Haven't fully decided. Are you getting a tax refund this time
around? And if so, what are you going to do with it?

response 316 of 563: Mark Unseen   Feb 19 22:49 UTC 2006

I'm too out of shape to keep up on the walks with y'all but I can do the
debriefing afterwards--so yes, I'll keep as many Saturday afternoons free as
I can, Mary! We'll see how it competes with the activities of my 7 nephews
and nieces that I now have in MI [ranging in age from 5 to 20].

I'm happy to log in and find that my account hasn't been reaped. Not
sure how much time I'll have to spend around here, but it's nice to know
that at least I still see SOME familiar faces.
