Key response time has been crappy over the link recently. Lags of
10-20 seconds are not uncommon.

Pine has been freezing on me recently. Usually it happens when I use one
control-something combination that requires another control-somthing
combination -- that is, I do ^W for search or ^X for send or some such, and
then if I try to do an additional control-key command like ^C to cancel either
at the prompt that comes up, my connection just freezes entirely.

happens to me, too. I have been learning Mail. Jim's phone bill reflects
problems with grex. We pay for 50 calls/month and usually stay about that.
Last month was 143 calls. He said it took ten tries to send an e-mail. Is
there a good chance the problems will be fixed, or should we switch service?
It is 6 cents per extra call. A stamp would be cheaper.

I've had the problem with Pine freezing up, but only when using
Microsoft telnet. Then, it happens fairly predictably. If I use a
different telnet client, no problems. This may not be what you're
experiencing, but you might give another telnet app a try.

Ugh, the telnet that comes with Windows 95 and NT 4 is so bad! Do Windows
98 or Windows 2000 come with the same lousy telnet client?

98 is the same. I haven't tried 2000.

Try CRT for telnet. I'm using it right now. You c an download
it from the TUCOWS web site.
