"Xerox" is a tradename, and a proper noun. Any arguments/other points
of view?

Okay, I'll let "xerox" go. I assume it's in there as a verb since you
hear "let's xerox this report" and such quite often. It's only in
my dictionary as a proper noun, and I'm sure Xerox Corp. would fight
any company using the word as a generic term for copying; however, that
ignores the common usage...

Wow, 12 zeros in a row; that ties the record, I think.

Xerox, like Kleenex, Frigidaire, and a dozen other companies, has and wil
fight the usage of their brand names generically. Authors tend to respect
that, only becuase they're visible and in print; everybody else tends to
ignore it.
