Hmm...looks like Mark has a line on this one.

I find "bluejay" as "blue<space>jay" in several dictionaries,
but never as "bluejay". Do you have a reference, Jim?

OK. I'll bite the bullet.

And I refuse to provide a definition. :)

Thanks, Joe...your word!

Here's a definition:

  brinjal
n : hairy upright herb native to southeastern Asia but widely
cultivated for its large glossy edible fruit commonly
           used as a vegetable [syn: {eggplant}, {aubergine}, {eggplant
           bush}, {garden egg}, {mad apple}, {Solanum melongena}]

Eggplant, eh? I got as far as "southeastern Asia" when I looked it up.

So I'm thinking of a seven-letter word (that I hope hasn't been used before)
and is not

Someone should make a list of all the 7-letter words that have been used.

A list of words would be good. Maybe I can make some time to generate one.

Maybe Rane could comment on how he got his 6-letter list started.
Scanning for "ding" or similar pulls a lot of them out these items, I
think. It'd be nice to automatically update the list, too, if possible.

I was thinking I'd scan for " 7" or " 7 "

It was early days for the 6 letter list. Still, I do recall scanning
for "ding", among other clues. Also people reviewed the list to see
if they could recall any words that were missing. That would probably
still work, as the 7 word game hasn't been around so very long.
