Does anybody know anything about the band filling in for Counting Crows
tonight? I heard that it's a local band called Voodoo Hippies.

Yes -- "THE" Vudu Hippies. I thought they were alright, but very
unremarkable. The best song they did was the Joplin standard "Break
another little piece of my heart" (I don't know what the official song
title is). The concert was VERY good, however. A folk singer named
Peter Stuart came on before Cracker and he was really good.

Well, the great Saturday February 19 show is over, and I must say that
King Vitaman has pissed me off immensely. While I enjoyed their rendition
of the theme song from the "A-team", the rest of their set wasn't very fired
up. Aside from that, their set lasted a whole hour which meant that Nadsat
Nation, I.C., and SDD had to rush their sets, and Lucky Haskins barely got
to play. Furthermore, they have quite rudely kicked Ted out of their band
and now Prentiss is drumming for them. In spite of all that though, it was
still a most enjoyable show. For those who like Nadsat Nation, their demo
tape is excellent but if you get it be sure to get the one with the bonus
track "Security in Numbers". Couch plays at performance network this
tuesday with Math and Bullet in the Head, possibly Galen also...my band
Beach Head will be playing at the next Commstock fundraiser, and my other
band Chore will be playing in Brighton with Galen and one other band very
soon.

Industrial Engineering Corps. The last bastion of truly good
        Industrial
in the local area ... where all the heathens have gone Techno, quality remains.

Yeah I.C. (x's instead of periods) is pretty cool, their singer kinda
reminds me of the guy in Youth of Today 'cause he holds the mike right
up to his mouth, kind of neat that he goes out with the other singer too,
Fergus is neat-o on bass! Watch out for GLE reunion!

I'm in BeachHead too along with dave. we're playing at the next commstock
fundraiser, and maybe at the church may 6th. the local bands that I like are:
Nadsat Nation, I.C., SDD, BeachHead, Jaks, scheme, Chore, Galen, Couch,
prehensile monkey-tailed skink, tiger 100, barbed wire playpen, nautical
almanac, suckers 4 lollipops, beachhead, morsel... the shows on the 26th and
the 2nd were good, especially 26th. Nautical almanac and scheme were great.
I also like the celler dwellers.

response 43 of 117: Mark Unseen   Apr 12 22:00 UTC 1994

nope. last time they played their sound quality was really bad, and they claim
ed to be better thAN Magwa, which they aren't.

response 45 of 117: Mark Unseen   Apr 14 00:12 UTC 1994

it's Zuma, and anyway they broke up, and some other band will be playing,
hopefully the fighting 69th. but they will play at commstock. That would
be cool if we played at commstock.

response 47 of 117: Mark Unseen   Apr 17 05:03 UTC 1994

about the commstock fundraiser on the 14th. We will be playing at it,
probably opening, Lucky Haskins too. Breakthru probably will play, although
maybe not. Messengers of Zuma broke up, and they're trying to get them
back together for this one show, if not, then Sam the Butcher will play,
Magwa might be playing too.

hey my name is allan and i am as well inn beachhead
so now it seems all three out f four members are on this grex
thing. hey dave. hey scheme. the bands i'm likin are
SDD, who are just fun and danceable, barbed wire playpen, who
have an awesome singer named John Rastafari, who has been real
good to me and my band, and who is great to know or talk to, and
then another good band is the fighting 69th, also called cockfight, who
have a real cool sound. Lots of bands are great, i can't
list them all. i wanna say FUCK CORRUPTION COMMITEE! because
the mor i think of it the more i realize that they are jerks, except some of
the short dead dudes are in it and they are normally nice huys, so i
don't want to put them in the category with they singer. whether he's
better than magwa or not no one in their right mind would be so rude.
hopefully he will wise up because i think someday i will end up playing with
his band.

if you REALLY think you'll even have a rat's ass chance of playing with
Corruption Committee, you'd best watch what you say about them in such a
public forum. >:)
