No, that's one of the only ones I haven't tried. Thanks
for the reminder.

In response to # 4 Dog's Blood Rising is by Currnet 93, which also has
several other pretty scary albums out (and it takes a lot for me to
say that). A query of my own, does antone know where I could find
tapes by The Holy Modal Rounders, they are a druges out bluegrass
band from the early 60s that blows away anything ever done by the
Grateful Dead. Another note on Current 93 thet are a project of
people from Psychic TV & Throbing Gristle, Current 93s other
album I remember the title of is Earth over Earth.

Is Dog's Blood Rising still available?

You might be able to order Dog's blood rising, but I doubt you'll be able
to find it in stock anywhere here in town. The last time I saw it was in
San Francisco at Rough Trade records (the outlet for the now defunct lable),
and it was on vinal and $15.00 <sigh>.

I'm not really sure what's in print by the Holy Modal Rounders.
There's a CD issue of a 1976 album called HAVE MOICY! which is related
to them somehow. Some of their stuff was still available in the late
vinyl era but who knows what you could find now.

Current 93 issued a compilation of 60's material by the very traditional
folk singer Shirley Collins; the compilation is called FOUNTAIN OF SNOW.
Seems quite at odds with the other Current 93 projects described here.
I think there's still a copy in Tower's "World Music-British Isles" bins
if anyone wants to look it over.

I don't know if anyone is still interested, but I actually possess
"Dog's Blood Rising" by Current 93 on CD- it is still available,
although very hard to find. If anyone wants to make a copy, I'd
be happy to lend it to them. Their song "Falling Back in Fields
of Rape" is unnerving, their cover of Simon and Garfunkel's
"Scarborough Fair/Canticle" pleasantly bizarre. The rest of the
album is pretty good too.

I am definitely still interested--I'd actually like to buy the
CD, if you're willing to sell it, but if not, mail me.

I have no CD player but I would love a tape of the CD, could I send
you a blank tape through the mail, pant, drool, slober ; )

Sorry, Laurel, I'm too fond of the CD to give it up, but I'll gladly
tape it for both you and raven; y'all can mail me a tape or just let
me know what kind you prefer and recompense me w

response 34 of 90: Mark Unseen   May 27 23:58 UTC 1993

oops. I was going to say, if you want to pick it up in person you
can recompense me then. I've gotta warn you, my schedule is
, unhappily, extremely crowded and inflexible these days; it may be
some time before I can get a tape out to you.

For my own part, if anyone has anything by Robert Rental and the Normal
I would *love* to get a hold of it. Thanks.

Matthew in #26 -- I'd forgotten that we were mentioning the Holy Modal
Rounders. I found an Italian CD pressing of one of their original albums,
INDIAN WAR WHOOP, in Madison last weekend. I think this album definitely
requires a little chemical assistance to appreciate it properly.
Send me some e-mail and we'll arrange for you to hear this blast from
the past on tape...

Depends on the media.... but if you're looking for it on a 45 you
might want to call Musical Memories, in Flint, Phone 313 238 5575.
I found a copy of "Sleepwalk" by Santo and Johnny there. They will
do mail orders.

The Levellers did a nice cover of "Devil Went Down To Georgia" on one of
their early CD singles.

"The Devil wne down to Georgia" can be found on a Charlie Daniels greatest
hits collection...you'll find it on CD. Also look in used stores if you
desire vinyl. Also look on various hits of 70's CDs. Sam's Jams also
has a large 45 collection, new at $2.99 , used from 25cents to collectors
prices.

I have a cover version by The Levellers, but I think the one you are probably
looking for is by The Charlie Daniels Band?

Does anyone remember an album set called "Consequences?" It was done
by two or three folk from 10CC. I'd be interested in getting a copy, and I
don't know quite where to start looking.

response 44 of 90: Mark Unseen   Dec 13 14:12 UTC 1993

Godley and Creme, I think. Gack. It was a 3 LP set; I haven't seen
a copy for years and I have heard nothing about a CD reissue.
CONSEQUENCES made a big splash in its day. I'll keep an eye out as I
cruise the used record shops, but don't get your hopes up.

you might want to try sunsite@unc.edu they have a rock and roll lyrics
server. It's also available from which host.

at the risk of sounding like an absolute rank amateur (which i am),
how do it do that. i need real simple instructions...as you can see,
i'm stuck in the late 60's/early 70's :)
do it just type sunsite@unc.edu or do i need to put something first?
sorry for typos.

 If you have Internet access,
type (at the OK: prompt) !telnet sunsite.unc.edu login as gopher
and use menu option 4.

From the Which Host. You can use either MSU or UM

gopher. I'll post this info when I'm sure of it.
