Elecronic music often related to "musique concrete" is vry dissonant
and collage like. Some electronic composers to check out include Xenakis,
the guy who composed "Songs for Ancient Children" (forgot his name), John
Cage, and numerous others frU of M.

Oh--I think I see now. "Classical electronic music" meaning
that style of electronic music ala Cage, which has been around
a while. Did I get that right?

Ahhhh, an item I can sink my teeth into!
Here's what I like, it's pretty diverse, but I like that
and I hope you will too:
Dream Theater : A cross between Rush and Metallica
Iron Maiden : Goth at it's best
Queensryche : Progressive metal with extraordinary vocal skills
Ben Harper : Blues, rock, reggea, folk he's got it all
Tori Amos : She's nuts, but I like her
Heather Nova : Check out her album "Oyster", beautiful
Craig Chaquico: Ex-Starship Guitar man gone New Age
Micheal Hedges: Excellent
Mystic Rhythms: My old band, if you can find it, try "Myths of War"
Bad Religion : Political Punk at it's musical best
Rush : GODS
And Many Others!

Have you noticed that people are still having sex? All the denouncements had
absolutely no effect. Parents and counsellors constantly scorn them, but
people are still having sex and nothing seems to stop them.
Do you realize that poeple are still having sex? They've been told not to.
Perhaps they are perplexed. When you see them holding hands, they're making
future plans to engage in the activity. Do you understand me?
People are still having sex. Lust keeps on lurking. Nothing makes them stop.
This AIDS thing's not working. People are still having sex. It's been going
on for quite a while. Perhaps it's quite fashionalbe. It hasn't gone out of
style.
It's a fact that people are still having sex. It's rather obvious. It's
just what one expects. The evidence is all around that everyone in every
town has had at one time at one time or another in their life. At this very
moment, people are still having sex in a downtown condo or street in the
projects. Although you can't see them, or hear their breathing sounds,
someone in this world is having sex right now.
People are still having sex. Lust keeps on lurking. Nothing makes them stop.
This AIDS thing's not working. People are still having sex. It's been going
on for quite a while. Perhaps it's quite fashionable. It hasn't gone out of
style. People are still having sex. People are still having sex . . . .
"People Are Still Having Sex?" I think I've heard it a time or two . . . 8^)

I love too many albums to possibly pick a favorite, but the current "stuck in
the tape player" ones are Lisa Loeb's "Tails" and Jack Roberts' "Longer on a
Message". Absolutely brilliant.

Yes, that's a bummer.
Me typing my stuff at work.
Don't really expect to memorize my entire cd-/lp-collection
(way to big).
What I forgot, but just read was Heather Nova, I've seen her in
concert and the intimacy of the entourage. Like sitting on
her lap while she sings to you. I think I fell in love with her
that night, but since I'm not a groupy it was a lonely crush Hahaha)

They're great, aren't they? My favorite albums are the three
that go from nature, nature and man, man and technology. These
are "Songs from the Woods", "Heavy horses" and "Stormwatch".
If you like folk music but don't know about Jethro Tull, you
ought to find someone with the first two I mentioned and listen
to them. While rock mucis, sort of, there have a spirit about
them that is really wonderful. My own mother likes those two
albums, and she is most definitely not someone who appreciates
99% of anything related to rock.

The two CDs that I've be replaying the most recently are The
Goldberg Variations (Bach) arranged for strings by Sitkovetsky
and The Complete Suites for Solo Cello (Britten) performed by
Torleif Thedeen. Good stuff.

Gack...what a question. hold on to your hats, folks, this may get a little
odd....
Jethro Tull, Oingo Boingo, Bad Religion, Enya, Ministry, all sorts of
soundtracks (from The Crow to Legend), classical of all types, The Police,
Danzig....hmmm, what else? Metallica, Alice Cooper, David Allen Coe, Kitaro,
Enigma, The Chieftans....you know, the people at Columbia House must think
I'm stoned when I fill out an order form...heh.

I've decided that if I were stranded on a deserted island with one CD from
my collection and a CD player, the one CD would have to be Rusted Root, "When
I Woke." I could sit and listen to it over and over for days on end...

Whoever mentioned that Rush are GODS! is one of my best friends now. =)
Nephi and Beeswing -- when I was a freshman, "People Are Still Having Sex"
and "Show Me How to Dance" by Bingoboys were my favorite songs.
Scott -- I know what you mean my eclectic...an example...my Tori Amos cd is
on top of KMFDM, Mozart, Rush, Enya, George Clinton and the P-Funk, and the
Cool World soundtrack right now. (They're in the random cd changer) I have
*music swings* not mood swings... <bg>

Nightnoise : Celtic, folky, new age, cool

Well, I personally would *hope*, but aside from that I agree with #46.
Oh, I forgot some oddities:
Isaac Hayes (the "Shaft" soundtrack!), Iggy Pop, Public Enemy, Southern
Culture on the Skids, and a bunch of obscure things...

Actually, the Shaft soundtrack is really good. The movie is a bit of a 70's
period piece at this point, but the soundtrack is stone classic Isaac Hayes,
in his prime as an artist.
