Re 24 - Yeah, I heard that one emanating from a stopped car earlier
today. I was hoping it was just a hallucination brought on by
the heat...

On a similar note, anyone here that techno-dance version of
"Smells Like Teen Spirit" a few years ago?

I actually liked the acoustic version of "smells like teen spirit"
that tori amos did on her EP that followed "Little Earthquakes" Then
again, as good looking as tori amos is, I'd probably like anything she
did. I want to marry tori amos.

This is all your basing your desire on kerouac, the way she looks?

I have a tremendous respect for Tori Amos. btw, I noticed that on "Under The
Pink", in the song "Past The Mission" she sings with Trent Reznor, and in
the song "Precious Things" on "Little Earthquakes", she refers to
"Those demigods with their Nine-Inch Nails."

coincidence?... I think not.

Tori and Trent have been Good friends for quite a few years and she has sung
backup on one of his albums as well.

I am sick and tired of Melissa Etheridge, BRYAN ADAMS AND HIS GOD-DAMN MOVIE
SOUNDTRACKS, Most r&b and techno rip off music, and I think I can also throw
in Star Trek. It may not be a song but I hear it on the radio, tv, newspaper,
books and I am sick and tired of it. They should have ended it with TNG.

No anne, of course Tori Amos has much more than looks...she has shown
much depth and worldwisedness (is that a word?) in her songs. Then
again maybe its only because shes a blonde who dyes her hair red? hmmm

I, too, have heart palpitations upon hearing "misery". I liked "gel" by
Collective Soul but now they play that candy-ass "december" song every five
minutes. I likewise loathe Bryan Adams. Huey lewis must die. Whintey Houston
must die. Michael Bolton and his hair must die. Mariah Carey, while having
an incredible voice, must stop singing trite crap that her managers write for
her. Michael Jackson and his ego should likewise die. He deserves death fpr
that stupid nose job alone. (Sorry, I w as awakened at 5 am by rattling
plumbing and am cranky now).

One song that REALLY makes me retch, in a big way, is Whitney Huston
singing "I will always love you" I could easily live the rest of my life
without hearing that song again. Come to think of it, most love songs are
worse than bad.

Also, _I Will Always Love You_ was a #1 Country hit for Dolly "Don't you wish
you had boobs like these?" Parton.

How about any song sung by Ace of Base. <shudder>
rogue
response 37 of 143: Mark Unseen   Jul 31 00:45 UTC 1995

Ace of Base is over-produced but the tunes and melodies are catchy. Very
European.

I'm not a huge fan of any active artist. I do think the Red Hot Chili Peppers
have a cool sound, especially their hard songs. I'm still listening to a bunch
of 80's stuff and have found a new appreciation for some of it.

Trisha, wathc what you say about Huey Lewis and the News!!!!!!

response 39 of 143: Mark Unseen   Jul 31 05:10 UTC 1995

No Orwell. I think Huey sucks the big one. Lately he has been making
rendidtions of cheeseball cover tunes. He is on the latest Beatles tribute
album and I know John Lennon is flipping wildly in his grave (provided he
wasn't cremated).

Beeswing...I'm still <rotfl> at your response about "December" and Whitney
Houston!!! =)

Another song I hate is that STUPID, get-on-your-nerves song "Don't Want No
Short-Dicked Man" or whatever the heck it's called. It sounds like a broken
record, and makes me want to SCREAM!!!

Funny, I was reading this item and that shitty remix of 'Total eclipse of the
heart' came on. I can add that to my list too. I HATE REMIXES!!!

How about "I'm Too Sexy" by Right Said Fred. I'm to sexy to listen to that
piece of shit.
