My Cd collection is fairly varied. Mostly the old Faith No More, Soundgarden
and so on. Of course, then I make purchases that no-one can figure out, such
as Mr. Bungle or a weirdo techno album.

Are Siouxsie and the Banshees any good?
What does their music sound like?
And how do you pronounce Siouxsie?
birdlady
response 34 of 65: Mark Unseen   Dec 3 23:39 UTC 1995

Siouxsie is pronounced "Susie", as in the name. They're music
is...well...hard to explain. Siouxsie has a haunting voice (mezzo soprano
in ways), and the music is light and dark all at the same time.

The first Siouxsie and Banshees album was... well, it was one of the
few LPs I ever sold. Awful noise. They have mellowed considerably
since then. Siouxsie has a nice side gig as half of The Creatures.

Siouxsie bext albums IMO are Hyena & Peekaboo, another one of my
favorites is called something like JuJu, but I can't find it now. I like
her stuff it reminds me a little of the Cure (her guitarist used to be in
the Cure) but more musicaly sophisticated and less whiny. Siouxsie and
Bauhause are about the only PIB (person in black) bands I can stand.

I'm not all that fond of _Superstition_. Unfortunately, I'd decided to
get all of Siouxsie's stuff before I picked it up. It was my first
Siouxsie album, and, to date, my only. I didn't really like "Face To
Face" either.

I really did like "Peekaboo" and "Kiss Them For Me". I even have the
DJ vinyl promo of "KTFM". _Superstition_ just, well, bored me.

I recently bought "Sinatra: The Capitol Years" and it's wonderful.
This is his stuff from 1949-1959.
This is the first Sinatra I have ever bought and I never knew what I was
missing.

I bought Eazy-E's last album on CD. Half the album is fairly weak, and the
rest are shots at the Death Row recording artists. I might bother to go
into detail after a bit of sleep, if anyone's really interested.
