FWIW, I've seen packets dropped between the ISP and grex every time I
traced the route this evening. Sometimes, it's only one hop's worth, but
it's sometimes been more.

I didn't get a disconnect from my telnet session! (So, there's no problem
anymore, I guess.)

Not only is telnet down, but attempting to telnet to grex immediately
kills one's ssh session!

Not for me: Two ssh and one telnet session open simultaneously, and all
working.

I still frequently get things locked up for about a minute (for the past week
or so) as does Jim, when dialed in or telnetted. And my mail logfile records
locks of some sort.

ssh seems to be a *lot* more sensitive to network interruptions than
telnet. I'm not sure why.

I just got locked up twice in 5 minutes while telnetted - reading mail, and
reading bbs. Quicker to close the connection and telnet back than to wait
the minute for it to unlock.

I got bumped off twice last night. Is this a problem with our ISP, or with
something on Grex?

likewise. It's those droppable packets, right?

I haven't been dropped from my Grex connection, despite using ssh, but I have
been noticing occasional freezes which can last for several minutes.

I occassionally run traceroute to grex; I often notice packets being dropped
between our ISP and grex. I have not figured out why. The load on grex
has not been unreasonable. Someone probably needs to spend some time in the
Pumpkin to track down the problem.

Sometimes, if I wait long enough, my "stuck" Grex connection comes
back to life. Problem is persisting.

I got bumped a couple more times tonight, after only being on a minute or so
each time. I gave up and dialed in, and haven't had a problem.

I've consistently had to telnet in 3 or 4 times to finish a session.
Responding to email and to BBS takes longer than my telnet connection will
last.
