I never saw the movie (or was it a TV show?) but I liked the book
I read ...

Hey you siilies! How about what M-net does; private channels must start
with a Capital letter! The partygoers then wouldn't have to worry about any of
this x or p or whatever controversy!

hmm... I think the capital letter means something else here. 'sides,
who wants to be M-Net? It's been done before! ;)

So, we must avoid doing anything that has been done before? Gakk...
what's a good substitute for breathing ;->.

Then what does it mean, to start a channel off with a capital? In any
case, I noticed that it seems to work well; take it or leave it.

Welcome to Grex and the ascii-winks, selena. #28/29 were not
to be interpreted "literally."

Ask for private channels to discuss private things and look where I send us.
Geeze.

Actually, knowing Selena, I think she gave you an ascii-wink that you
didn't catch! "take it or leave it" doesn't sound like something she'd
usually say.. Any way, I think that the Capital Letter idea is simple,
        effective, and gets
totally around this what-letter-is-safer thing. What's more, it's easier for
us partygoers to type! Now, answer her <and now my> question, regarding
what the Capitol in front currently stands for, and why it couldn't be scrapped
or changed to accomadate her idea!

I'll go take a look... brb. ;)

putting a capital letter in front of a party channel allows the channel
to turn off noises or change the source of the noiselist.

at times, that'd seem REALLY useful in the conferences. :)

        As you are so entitled..

So, if some change has not already been implemented, why not just "_",
with no letter at all??

I don't know. The horizontal position of that symbol seems pretty perverse to
me. 8*)

How about "happy channels"? Type :-) at the end of a private channel
name....

That is just TOO easy... *grin*

You're hopeless... *smile*
sidhe
response 48 of 56: Mark Unseen   Feb 21 05:24 UTC 1995

No, actually, quite hopeful! I've noticed, this evening, that there was
        a
closed channel on party that began with a capital letter, and had no
extension! Is this the way it's done, now?
carson
response 49 of 56: Mark Unseen   Feb 21 06:18 UTC 1995

was it a personal channel?
