It's pretty cold in Kalamazoo (not that I mind), but I'd hate to have snow
after all the Spring weather.

Rats. We had an early shower in Ann Arbor which wiped out my plans
to get the lawn mowed before the sleet and snow started.
It'll be a jungle out there before I get a chance to get the mowing
done now.

It was snowing in Eaton Rapids this morning at 10, but I saw no signs
of it after returning to Tecumseh this afternoon. There was some light
rain this afternoon as I was coming back, but no snow.

There's a freeze warning for tonight. I'll have to remember to bring my
houseplant in off the balcony.

We presently have falling snow, further proving that I dwell in the
Promised Land.

Hehe. Yeah, I loved the UP too but I have to admit that I did get kind
of sick of winter around May.

Luckily they retraced the snow that was originally in the
saturday forecast here.

Now it's just "patchy frost" in the Detroit forecast.

Two days ago it was over fourty degrees higher!

The 3:45 pm Detroit forecast says we have a possibility of a brief
period of sleet or snow tonight, and Sunday afternoon and evening,
mixed in with the scattered rain showers.

Yeah, it was as cold as witches tit in a brass brassiere when I went
outside this morning! They say lows in the *lower* 30's again tonight.
I wonder if this will ruin my flowers and such.

We moved some of our petunias into the old garage, and put row cover fabric
over the rest. The dahlias and a few other things were in a cold frame
already, and I think all the other annuals we've bought so far are
frost-tolerant. I hope the lilac flowers could ride it out.

I had three old styrofoam rose covers lying around, so I covered 3 of the 4
tomatoes planted so far. Yup, the uncovered one was dead this morning. :(

Fava beans seem to like this weather. I was always afraid to plant them as
they are said not to do well in warm weather. I was lucky to pick this year
for my first try.

I've been toying around with the idea of gardening a little when I rent
a house next year. I'll have to pick your brains on advice when I get
started.

(the snow flurries predicted for the weekend never materialized here,
and there's nothing in the forecast, although we are expected to reach
a record for lowest high.)

I saw some snow flurries near Fowlerville about 90 minutes ago.
Just a few flakes, but it was clearly snow and not rain.

The hook-and-ladder could not make it all the way around the pad in
front of my house that makes up the apex of our circle driveway. I
quickly dashed outside to move my Focus, which was block the way for a
truck that size, and briefly considered backing it to the front of the
garage before I decided that there were too many bumpers that I had no
view of in the way. I wound up rolling down the windows and moving it
to the grass. The cause? Deep, thick frost on every window.
Doesn't it figure. At least I didn't have to scrape my car on my way
to work this morning. :)

your driveway?

See the bummed item. My dad was ambulanced to the hospital, and the ambulance
was preceded by a convoy of excessively large vehicles. Actually, change the
"was" to an "is" and the "your" to an "our" in your third sentence and you've
pretty much quoted my Mom and I at roughly 6:45 yesterday morning.
