We have 4 poor little kitties taking turns going into heat. The 2 guys get
fixed Thursday. At least 2 of the girls will be done in a couple weeks with
the other 2 done next month, unless we eat peanut butter and get all 4 done
at the same time.

Beans are much cheaper than peanut butter. You could do 6 at once.

I think I've gone through half a bottle of st john's wort in the past three
weeks. I'm sorely tempted to go get an actual prescription, except that I'm
convinced that the original problem is medicine-related and should be back
to normal any day now. It truly sucks in the meantime, though--I can't
even get friends to distract me because I don't trust myself to refrain
from random and unforgivable comments.

This is the best relationship I've ever had, and Dave is the only one I will
ever want, but it's sooooo hard to remain strong while we work on his issues.
He does not want it to end, and neither do I, but part of him sabotages
happiness when he achieves it. This is taking tons of strength from both of
us, and I'm scared I'm going to lose him again before we can come up with a
solution.
I'm doing lots of research and application since he refuses to take medicine
(even St. John's Wort). His reasoning is that it will change who he is.
Must remain strong. The pain is worth it.

I understand sabotaging happiness when it's achieved. For me, it was
fear of loss of control-- fear that another mood swing was coming on.
Upswings of mania are very infrequent in my case (bipolar type II with
rapid cycling), and I found them frightening. Plus, it was difficult
for me to be socially astute when I was up. I babbled a lot, trying
to nervously work my way through difficult encounters with people.
Depression, which was much more often, seemed safer. I could
withdraw, and well, people don't mind that so much. Really.
I understand his fear, but if med treatment is right, he's looking at
this externally. If it's done right, the true person inside should be
able to come through. My own mother swore up and down that she knew
me better than I knew myself, and when I was on meds, she claimed she
didn't know me anymore. My father and I knew better than that.
but.. this is just my own experience and opinion. Your mileage may
vary.

IBB
Cause I took a nasty fall with my racing bike last Friday, doing 20 mp/h
Apparently some no good-let's harass-cyclists type of person had placed
a fist sized rock on the biking track.
I only noticed it when I was on top of it.
My handelbar made 90 degree turn and I plumitted to the ground.
In doing so I collided with my biking friend Daniel, whom as a result
fractured hos elbow.
As for me: lots of bruises and abbrasions. Biking clothing torn,
but my bike survived faily well.

We figure about 9 months. We took them in on Jul 1 and their eyes opened the
next day. Counting back 10 days gives Jun 21 for birthday. They are getting
big and the differences in personality are amazing and interesting since they
have pretty much been handled the same. One is a big chicken, probably
because he fell down an open cold air return into the furnace and spent 2 hrs
in the dark before we found him when he was about 6 weeks old. One of the
ladies is a bit skittish. You have to let her come to you or she will, as
Staci puts it, poof. She shattered her hip in a fall at about 3 months old,
picking her up during recovery hurt her enough that she is leary of being
picked up. She will cuddle with you in bed or on the couch if you sit still
and wait for her. She is even playful when it is her idea. Is is still the
leader of the roughnecking with the others during kitty races and kitty
wrestling.

Anybody driving a car hates cyclists, keep that in mind.
Vandalism happens all the time.
People in the Netherlands are soooo indifferent towards other people.
They couldn't care less whether somebody perished or not. It's a small
feat to not think twice and place dangerous obstacles.
Another fav. (but less dangerous) hobby is spread glass shards across
the entire breadth of a bicycle track. Obviously I got Kevlar tubes.
As for getting off it so lightly: Daniel thinks otherwise. He claims I
deliberately made a body check in order to get off the pitch. (from my
friends he is by far the best and fastest cyclist). Of course he's
jesting. He just likes to feed my sense of guilt. heh heh.
My shoulder still hurts, though.

IBB even though I started to stop at least 4 car lengths behind the car
in front of me on my way home last night, I still went into a skid (and
nearly hit the car in front of me) and got momentarily stuck in the
ditch. Thankfully I was able to get out without outside assistance,
but I was I bit worried since 1.) I was going really slow in the first
place, and 2.) there was other traffic on both sides of the road.

re#44 In the town where I live there is often broken glass all over the
bike paths and sidewalks but it isnt from people who hate bicyclists,
it is from drunks dropping their 40oz bottles of beer. :P
re#45 yeah, things looked pretty slippery last night. I went to the bar
and had a few drinks and slipped and slided the whole way home!

IBB now I'm dealing with the fallout from the past few weeks. Looking at the
possible end of a relationship due to the worst possible timing of a burst
of temper, and all I can do it wait and see what happens.
On the bright side, at least this time the bummedness is not drug-induced.

In my experience (around here) it is the cyclists that hate cars. Why would
a car hate a cyclist? Jim once caught a drunk kid tossing a glass bottle up
into the air right in front of him on the sidewalk and he pinned him against
a pole with his bike and shook him hard and lectured him severely. He may
think twice next time (or at least look for bikes before tossing).
