Could someone tell me, what, if anything, does it take to make humdog happy?

response 26 of 164: Mark Unseen   Mar 19 23:11 UTC 1995

Good question.

The humdog is *never* happy. She may upon occasion be ever-so-slightly
pleased, but never "happy". It would ruin her.

Although there are a few WELL people, such that if they were in a bus and it
went over a cliff, well....

y'know - i've seen the humdog
in her great billowing black cape
grin out from under the drooping hood
and the grin was a point
a thin line of interest and persuasive candor
that rippled through her throes..

things that make humdog happy
are usually simplemad
and darkglisten

things that make pighed happy too.
let me list a few:
        ancient sofas of recline
        stilleto heels and razor blackjacks
        ancient grecian pornography
        modern aesthetics
and over-rated pomo rants that dribble into confused soliloquies.
        Dark cliffs of ravenpatrol
where the piper plays a dirge
(pausing only long enough to smile with a wink)
the very best thinking and the very worst intentions
the dingiest pits of hell splashed onto heavenly white...

these are items of joy, but items that get a bit sharp
unless you like opening up your fingers on these ideas.

There is no snow *here* either. I had to drive north this weekend to
find some.

Now I understand. Humdog is here but she's ignoring me.
Feels like old times. (Imagine cyberpout here).

This trip through the topics brings up hurtful memories of
abandonment and alienation. Why or why doesn't humdog like
me?

Do you have a tail?
vsclyne
response 37 of 164: Mark Unseen   Mar 25 14:07 UTC 1995

I could get one. Would that help? Might humdog finally notice me then?

Okay. I have a tail:

Once upon a time
In a galaxy far away

Oh...yeah.........I see.......a *tail*....

Well,

I dunno. That's another matter.

response 41 of 164: Mark Unseen   Mar 25 23:02 UTC 1995

Even a short little tale would probably do.

Works for me.

response 43 of 164: Mark Unseen   Mar 26 12:13 UTC 1995

Hi Juls. Do you have a short little tale for us?

juls
response 44 of 164: Mark Unseen   Mar 26 18:08 UTC 1995

Sure: The remainder of Joe Montana's career.

response 47 of 164: Mark Unseen   Mar 27 13:44 UTC 1995

Hey! Is that really Thanne? <enormous hug> Brenner
was spreading this discouraging rumor about you. But
she was apparently wrong. You are here. Say "hi" to
<humdog>, and if she say's "hi" back, you can pass it
on to me. That'll almost be like <humdog> talking to
me.

response 48 of 164: Mark Unseen   Mar 27 21:02 UTC 1995

You just have to impress her before you will be Noticed. You, ah,
didn't injure any pink things, did you?

response 49 of 164: Mark Unseen   Mar 28 00:51 UTC 1995

Hummer will notice whom she notices. No one else.
