Hmmm, I did not put the file in /tmp cause I knew it would be
erased in a couple of days .... didn't know about /var/tmp, thankxx.
Guess a little touch would help at this point.
btw, into what directory (not mine) would anyone recommend that
files such as these be put?

Actually I feel like we're doing better than during most of this century.
McCarthyist anti-communism in the 50's comes to mind as a much scarier era.
The 60's also had scary attempts at suppressing war dissent. And the 70's
gave us Watergate. On the other hand, it does seem like the pendulum is
swinging the other way again, since the early 80's. (Note that I've only
been alive since the late sixties; I'd be curious to hear more first-hand
perspectives!)

I'm gonna do it, for freedom of thought and speech aren't restricted
to state/country borders. Nowadays it concerns all cittizens of the world.

Thankxx to +all+ who sent in the petiton signature. Right, this
problem knows no geographical boundries.
And, nmarrale, there are always little dictatorial outbreaks
here and there - with more open communications we are better
able to snuff them out before they spread. Thankxx for your
support - spread the petition.
Frankly, I just remembered a couple friends on the Chamkatka (sp)
penninsula to whom I'll email the petition. Might
be ineresting for Russians to protest S314 .....
