I used to listen to my parents' 8-track. Mickey Mouse Disco, The Muppet Movie
soundtrack, and the Village People were common sounds in the Rizor
household.

Lesse...the first vinyl I ever bought was when I was four years old. It was
the "Mary Poppins" soundtrack. The first tape I purchased all by myself was
in 1984...Michael Jackson's Thriller. I think I had an eight-track of
"Mickey" at one time, but I can't remember. New discovery! I found a bunch
of old music my parents hid in the basement...among it was some Alice Cooper
(old stuff). Yippee!!!

Well, let's see. I guess the first music I listened to was Bing Crosby and
classical. I went to a lot of DSO concerts in High School while I was
listening to CKLW for soul and WKNR for rock. Was a big fan of CSN, David
Bromburg, the Dead, Zappa, and Jerry Jeff Walker in the '69 to '73 time frame.
Later the Allman Bro's, the Ramones, Firesign Theater, and the Beatles after
Magical Mystery Tour. In the 80's I rediscovered the more serious Frank Zappa
music (beginning with Shut Up and Play Your Guitar on 33 r.p.m.) and returned
to folk (byron Bowers, C. Lavin, etc.). Now it's mostly classical and folk,
like S. Colvin and the late great New Grass Revival (and the Flecktones). The
last CD I bought was a They Might Be Giants CD, so there goes the
folk/classical idea. Basically I like anything good, or funny. Both of these
catigories seem in short supply lately. I think I am second to Dr. Demento
to a novality music collection of recordings produced after 1968.
