In response to #22: thank you, i misunderstood the original use of "you" in an
earlier, similar statement.

will be both an extension of the court into the internet and a place to discuss
it and learn so that the curious may find out what they need or want to know. i
will enter an item about each title holding member so titles can be found
easily and other items as well early on. these will include a description of
the court, a calendar as it is needed, a item for the curious, and an item for
(mostly) current members to talk In response to #24: Proposal 1 was a whim, and
I can understand doing away with the idea. i will do my best to recruit new
users of synthesis, as it is a conf i love. thank you all once again for your
time. :)

I take it that your court is already active on AOL?

response 27 of 41: Mark Unseen   Jun 9 20:44 UTC 1994

no court on AOl (although her majesty is from there) PTH is another proposal i
had and it is on AOl. the court is only in Hangover, er, hanover New Hampshire.
i thought a conference in grex would be the best start on the internet. a
question to sysadmins: will i be fair witness or somesuch to the conf? could
you explain how that part of conferences works? thanks yet again.

should this be linked to rialto, synthesis, and/or maybe enigma since it may
conceern them? just a thought. again, what is a fairwitness?

Okay, I'm going to try this again. What is the "court of King Fuzzy"???
As in What is it?, why does it exist, how is it like the SCA, etc. To me
the phrase "the court of king fuzzy" may as well be in a foreign language.

Could you please explain this a little better/ more? Or at least mention
where I could get more info relatively easily.

As far as linking to Rialto, I have yet to see how/why this has anything
to do with SCA.

Fuz - a fair witness is the person who keeps an eye on the conference.
You can set the login and logout screens, announce the conference in
the "other conferences on Grex" item in agora, and keep the discussions
rolling. (There's an item in the info conference that lists a bunch
of fair witness commands). Fair witnessing is really what you make of
it. People have widely varying styles of fair witnessing. You'll have
a hard time finding any listing of guidelines for it.

I'm sorry, the court is best explained in conversation, thus i have shied from
an in depth conversation here. let me try to begin. the court started when
watching a shakespeare play (Brannaugh's Henry V) when i, big mouth in full
power mode, said i could be a better king than he, so whats the big deal? the
big deal then began when a friend took me up on it. she named me:" DrFuzzy,
King of the Internet." for me, that just wouldn't do. nor was it right for me
to rule something a friend, a hacker in earnest, had better control over. SO I
wrote myself (and 17 others at the time) titles. Enter, His Most Unclear
Highness, King Fuzzy I (Ph.D) King of The Interrealms, Emperor of The Outer
Stars, Duke of Nova Hampshira, Holder of the Grail of Unreason, and of the
Rings of Chaos and Disruption. The court is arranged roughly feudally, with
myself, two princes, two Counsels, six lords (of various title), four ladies, a
general, four ambassadors, an Entropic advisor, keepers of countless items of
power, and, The Shadow Queen. Many have more than one title, as was so years
ago. (my count says we are 20 with a few waiting for titles and to be added to
said total) What we do is simple. I wish to increase my dominion, although my
control is always as i wish it- weak and incomplete. i have no wish to be
overbearing, and in some ways i hope to be respected as was the Emperor of The
United States, a great man who needed only greater recognition. i hope with the
internet i may do the same. While we are not as yet affiliated with the SCA, we
are somewhat like them in that out court is styled after those of the past
(mostly England and rarely, the orient.) We hold court at all of out parties,
title is read on arrivalast is to be had by all. strangely, i am often the
cook. soon, we wil add a new institution or two to the court. among them is the
tournement sheduled for this summer. an outdoor feast will accompany a mock
sword, quarterstaff, and possibly more assorted weapons tounement with one
final victor and smaller, praise only, prizes awarded in specific fields.
after, if needs be, High Court will be held to settle disputes. i hope you have
taken the time to read this lengthy response, as it very important to the item.

I vote no on the conference. :)

I also vote that a feature be put into PicoSpan that allows a person to join
a conference that's located in someone's home directory; that way, people can
experiment with their own conferences at will.

King Fuzzy I is King. whether this has effect or not is null. let him have a
conference, the court is fun, so don't bug him. Beaurocuracy can be not even
similar. The Fuz is modest about the court. I say this as one who knows, his
Archivist and high Counseler, Dragonette Wavestar the Elven. ( perhaps someday
I will take the time to type all the lords and ladies of the court' titles.
Someday.)

Thank you for explaining. (And yes, I did read it. :) You could let
people in Rialto know about it, but I would not encourage linking it.
I will join and say HI.
