I don't remember it being in there when I registered... Of course, at that
time I didn't *have* another e-mail address, so I probably just ignored it.

On a related topic, what happens when someone forgets their password,
and never entered any kind of identifying information? When people
"write help" about this, should I just tell them they're out of luck,
or tell them to mail staff anyway (which I currently do)? It
happens pretty frequently.

Tell them to mail staff. We can check what they entered when
they registered, and if they never made their .plan viewable
(or even if they deleted the file), we can ask them things like
"What hobbies did you list?" or "Where did you find out about us?"
to confirm their identities.

Sometimes there are other ways to authenticate, depending on what is in their
account., We have also had to turn people down because there was just not
enough identifying information. I would definitely agree that they should mail
staff, but just note that there are no guarantees.

So.... What's staff up to now? It'd be great to get an update on the
OpenBSD conversion, btw.

"Staff" is up to lots of things - me personally too many thing to
actually all keep up with (some of them not even grex related). The
ultra-2 turned out to have bad memory. I hope to get that resolved
shortly, and get an ultra w/ openbsd at the pumpkin (assuming we have IP
space, which I'm not 100% sure on.)

I've installed OpenBSD 3.2 on my x86 machine and made it accessible
to staff by ssh. This was a few weeks ago. So far not much staff
activity on it though.
