Well, let's call a meeting and have a vote. This is serious stuff?

Funny, we already discussed this at a Board meeting and were
in favor of it...

I will repeat that I am not opposed to a move conference as it was proposed.
As it was proposed it would just link the move items together.
I would like to request that if there are any policy items being discussed
in move or elsewhere, please link them to coop where we discuss policy.

I read coop, near the end of my cflist. I've added move.cf to the start of
my cf.list. I think this is a good place to read/discuss various options and
brainstorm ideas, while the actual meat of ideas formed into proposals should
be discussed in coop and addressed at BoD meetings. This helps to keep coop
off-drift, and focuses the topic for perns interested in it directly without
(necessarily) being as concerned for policy issues.

I think that's too much structural overhead. (And I wasn't in favor
of a separate "move" conference to begin with.)

There was also some desire to have a place to discuss moving-related
fundraising.

Well, the move cf. is already here, so why waste time arguing about it. Let's
stay focussed on why there is a move cf. -- namely that we need to move. If
you want to discuss the *policy* of having this cf., don't link that item to
move. I want to read about the move, which is why I come to this cf. When
I haave the time and inclination I will go to coop. In the meantime, can
someone *un*link this item from coop? Some of us are really not into the
bickering right now.

It's a Board Minutes item and was originally entered in coop, so
it should stay in coop.

This is really quite amusing. Are we proposing to move move? Where? Where?
Why? Why? Omni, perhaps the Grexbat is needed? What is "structural overhead"?

I would like some assurance that everything concerning the move will
appear in coop. I would like to remove move from my .cflist, and just
read it all in coop. May I have that assurance?

I think that anything substantive about the move should be in Coop.
I have no problems with having it in the move conference as well; we
can link everything.

I interpret "anything substantive" to mean anything connected in any
way at all with the move, and will therefore stop reading move.

Is all this posturing about the move conference really necessary? Grex has
a big problem on its hands: needing to find a new place to live. It would
be much more helpful to the system if people could focus on discussing *that*.
Anybody got any new leads on sites to move to? I'm thinking it would be
useful to follow up with the folks at Lamp Post Plaza....

Humm. That reminds me. What's happening in the basement of the old
Ho-Jo just east of the Lamp Post, just past that motel. I use to work
in a bike shop down there back in the early 70's. Big, nice, space.

I'd thought of the building myself. I think it's a Reinhart Real Estate
office on the above ground. Likely they own the building. There are stairs
in back to the basement, leading to a large room with several smaller rooms
off it. This is right at the intersection of Stadium and Washtenaw.

#40-41:
I don't know about the basement space, but I looked into opne of the
above ground units a while back and the company was very high proced, and not
flexible at all to negotiate with.
