Hm. Carol from the PFC called me this morning. We are welcome to meet
there, but only until 9 when the store closes and they need the space for
something else. Also, she'd like us to invent and sign a form that says
that we don't hold the coop liable if one of us injures themself (eg by
falling down the stairs), and that we will return the room to the condition
we found it in.
A lot of our meetings run 'til 10, so I'm thinking the Washington Street
Station is probably the best choice, in terms of having enough space and
time, and staying out of other people's hair.
(In a town full of places and spaces, why is it so hard to find a place
to hold a Grex board meeting?)
I'm hoping to make a final decision about the location for this meeting
some time this morning.

I called the Washington Street Station. They say it's no problem for us
to meet there (they said "some computer groups does it on Thursdays
about once a month" -- I think he must have been thinking of Semislug).
The fellow I talked to sounded happy for us to meet there. He said some
groups just show up, and others call ahead to reserve a space. My ears
perked up at the idea of reserving a space. So, we have a reservation for
12 to 15 people "for drinks and chatting" at 7:00 on Wednesday. It's
under the name Grex.
I called the coop to cancel; am about to call Shaharayar to tell them not
to expect us.
If the Washington Street Station works out OK, especially if they take
reservations, I could see it possibly becoming a new meeting home for Grex.

Just in case, someone might want to stop by Washington Street Station
around 7:00pm on Monday or tuesday and just see how busy they are. Like
I said, I've only been in there after 9:00pm. They *could* be alot busier
earlier. It's always been fairly calm and quiet when I've been there, I
just don't want to see you guys get dropped into a noisy room if I'm wrong.

Hm. Good point. The person I talked to sounded like he thought it
would be OK. At this point, though, I think we're fairly committed
to that location, at least for this month's meeting.

Can a vote be taken on whether the board wants guest accounts on
Grex, subject to final spec approval, as discussed in item #86?
Would this fit under new business?
