I find it hard to believe that "James P. Howard II" is your FULL name.

"P." looks somewhat incomplete.

From an old Steve Allen "Answer Man" sketch, and apropos of
nothing in particular:

    Answer: Dr. Livingston I presume.

Question: And what is your full name, Dr. Presume?

That redundant. YOu dont need both the "Dr" in the front and the "Phd"
at the end. You're a language nitpicker brighn. I expected better from
you. /frown.

You don't need them, no. But I've seen them both used. ;}

I loved Steve Allen's "Answer Man" sketches.

Answer: Washington Irving

No reason why P. cannot be a legal middle name. My brother was given the
middle name M. He married someone with a last name starting in M. so changed
his middle name to match.

My father's middle name is W with no period. His brother is JD no periods.
When he was in the service during the Korean war the army couldn't handle it
and gave him ID as Jay Dee. My grandmother had a fit.

For a while, lots of Marines had NMI as their middle name.

Then there's the story (urban legend, surely) of the guy named RB
Jones. He was drafted, and could not make the Army understand that his
name was simply RB. Finally, out of frustration, on the next form where
he had to fill in his name, he put R(only) B(only) Jones. When his
dogtags showed up, they read Ronly Bonly Jones.
