The world and it's history is much more complicated than most realize.
The ancestor in their 50's fighting a war - how many decades ago were
people expected to live to mid 30's? Right now, in Central Africa, life
expectancy is 54. A war with 50 year old fighters is a desperate one.
Long in the tooth and the young already dead. Sad.
I told some African American co-workers (a few years ago) that my
brother did 23andme and found that we had African blood and they thought
it was hilarious. But to the larger population, race should be a
blurrier concept rather than "black and white". Race hustlers dividing
people by race is destructive. But in an age where victim points matter,
we aren't going to see progress with "Judge a man not by the color of
his skin, but by the content of his character."

Yes, you got that right...not just reparations but "tax payer" vs "citizen
but not paying diddly"
On the call most of the guffaws were from the darker complexions finding out
many of themselves were 50+% otherwise...western european, etc
The cousin who invited me is from Grand Rapids and we both served the
military at the same time (except he retired from it.) We had compared
notes a few times over the phone and he divulged his being 60% non-african.

I had to do a "De-Institutionalizing Racism" class for my gov't job in
Seattle. Two ladies were instructors - 1 from NOLA and the other from
HotLanta. The one from NOLA was married to the best friend of Dave
Chappelle's dad. If you know what that means then you know she was
all up in the racial equality heirarchy. She (Diane) was very nice.
HOWEVER, the one from HotLanta....she was labeling everyone based
on appearance. At some point she tried to shoehorn me as a cracker but
then I told her that mom is Native American so then she said "Oh, well
then you're an Apple..red on outside and white on inside"
It was like Dave Chappelle was inside her but this wasn't for laughs on
a stage...this was a government sanctioned class. *big eyes in disbelief*
Reparations are coming. Prepare the Kracken.
