I demonstrated what I said about you, Richard, as you know.
It seems to me that edina and I have about the same opinions about
prostitition.
I pretty well agree with slynne, too. I'd much rather have legal,
regulated and safe prostitution than the organized crime dominated
atrocity that we have now. Legalization wouldn't end the problems we
have. I don't see it as making things much worse, though.
Regardless of it's legal status, I don't plan on visiting any whore
houses. I will do what I can to keep my wife, stepdaughters, and other
female relatives out of that occupation.

re #247 you didnt demonstrate a damn thing jep. You certainly didnt
demonstrate that I deliberately lied about anything. You act as if it isa
crime to misinterpret something or be misinformed about something. Every damn
thing I posted was done so honestly, and you have no right to accuse otherwise
without backing it up which you can't.

I did a thorough research by watching HBO's series "Cathouse" and comparing
it with the HBO documentary "Atlantic City Hos" and I'd say yes.

I am completely taken aback!
I now know tha trichard and Rcurl both live in a fantasy world. Both site
as fact statements that are completely against human nature.
People in europe prefer older woman as prostitutes. WRONG! As a matter of
scientific fact, both sexes prefer younger partners for sexual activity. It
is part of human nature, wired directly into the brain. Smooth, supple, skin
over taut muscles tell our brain that this is a healthy body, well capable
of concieving children and passing our DNA to the next generation. Nowyou
richard may prefer to have sex with a grandmotherly type, but that is just
an individual preference.
"In fact the whole prostitution argument is sexist, if prostitution was
limited
to male gigolos, it wouldn't be illegal. Because nobody thinks its wrong for
a man to have sex with a thousand women." WRONG! A lot of people think it
is wrong for a man to have sex with many women. I am one such man.
" Prostitution is, where it is legalized, not a "very seamy, dark business",
unless your are a prude." WRONG! Where do you think so many of those
prostitutes in europe come from? why is there an underground movement in
europe to kidnap young women and sell them into slavery as prostitutes? Why
is there such a high value market for virgins? Why is organized crime so
deeply involved in prostitution in various parts of the world?
Prostitution is by and large a degrading business that takes young women,
offers them easy money, breaks them, passes on disease among them, removes
their self esteem, offers them drugs to forget and turns them into broken
human beings. The sexual revolution aside, which is a good thing,
prostitution is a known ans well documented evil that even liberated women
generally recognize as such.

If you or I or anyone honestly state something thinking it was true, and find
out later it wasn't, that is NOT lacking integrity."
And I am glad to see richard has finally come to his senses in regards to
George Bush and the WMD's in Iraq.

Easy there, tiger. We don't need you explaining yourself to the rest of us.
There is nothing scientific about preferences. Everyone has different
tastes. Matter of factly, I know many women both European and American that
prefer an older guy. I'm inclined to say that men are more attracted by
a woman's looks while women are more attracted by a man's disposition
financially speaking..but...I can just imagine the amount of squealing that
will cause among the femme respondents.

Well the concept of the 'man as provider' isn't new. In more modern
terms that doesn't mean going out and hunting and bringing home dinner-
it means bringing home a nice pay check. It does seem to be true that
most women want a man to make more money than they do. It doesn't always
matter if she makes a high 5 figures a year- if she does then she wants
a man making 6 figures. In theory. Of course group theory always seems
to break down when you actually apply it to individuals.
As for the older/younger bit. It wouldn't surprise me if some females of
a species actually liked the more mature males because they've managed
to get through the 'young and stupid' phase and are likely to be
better/more experienced providers.
As for me... I would like to think that people were more than mere
biological urges.

resp:260 Heh, it's really all about Ron Weasley (whose real name is
escaping me Rupert Grint maybe?), according to my FL anyway. I do find
it slightly disturbing, then I remember many of them are in their early
20s and I feel better about it. ;)

Re #255: Bru is the one seeming to live in a fantasy world. He has a
Panglossian perspective really out of touch with reality.
There are criminal enterprises in every branch of human endeavor or activity.
It is absurd to conclude that all endeavors and activities should be illegal
because of that.
It's fine for him to take the view he does of prostitution, but it is just
his opinion with no basis in fact *for well regulated prostitution*.
What did you think of the fictional prostitute in "Pretty Woman", bru?

RW says, "I, like anyone else, am perfectly capable of misunderstanding
some story I read or something from some time back, and misstating
something. We're all human. But to state that I deliberately *make
things up*, without any facts to back it up, and to act high and mighty
using that to claim one lacks integrity, is pretty low of jep to do.
He should apologize."
Too bad he won't apply the same logic to President Bush. There's a
word for that, isn't there?.

prostitution can be dangerous and I wouldn't recommend it as a career choice
to anyone, but then again I wouldn't recommend working deep underground in
a coal mine or driving around a track at 200mph either as jobs. There are
plenty of jobs that can be hazardous to your health and well being.
A firefighter has a more dangerous job than a prostitute.

You're forgetting the point Mike made earlier that not all prostitutes are
witting participants. There is an entire industry based on the sex slave
trade. The flipside of that coin are guys being harvested for organs
throughout SE Asia.
