Material Hallucination Engine: Very interesting music with Bootsy
Collins on bass, Shankay on violin, and a lot of middle eastern and
indian percussion.

Duane Eddy - Twang Thang
A very interesting collection of songs. There are 35 or so songs
on 2 CDs and they range from rock to country to techno-pop. There
is even a bizarre cut called "Tremblin'" which was written by Ravi
Shankar and Duane Eddy, and none other than George Harrison and
Jeff Lynne play slide guitar and keyboards on it. I highly recommend
it for those who enjoy the twangy, low sound of a guitar.

Portishead "Dummy" It's sort of like one part hip-hop, one
part lounge music, one part Siouxsie and the Banshees. It's fairly
depressing, but very interesting sounding, the women who sings has
a decent voice.

Archie Brown and the Young Bucks, RAFFERTY RAFFERTY FISH.
Obscure and not particularly notable, but it was in the office.

I'm in my boyfriend's room right now, and he has a wonderful six-cd changer.
I put it on random shuffle for these cd's: Beethoven, the Cure, the Pogues,
Glenn Miller, KMFDM, and Kermit: Unpigged. Nobody ever said I wasn't a *tad*
eclectic. ;-)

James Gang, THEIR GREATEST HITS. A $6 steal at the East Lansing
State Discount. It makes me want to throw open the dorm window,
crank up the stereo, and pitch a Frisbee. Joe Walsh was wasted on
the Eagles.

BTW, I did meet Jim Fox, the leader of the James Gang, a few times. He and
I were avid license plate collectors at the time, and he is still active with
that, although I have since gotten rid of my plate collection.

Talking Heads, FEAR OF MUSIC. I'm wallowing in the 70s today,
with the Heads and Steeleye Span, which probably only make sense as
a unified program if you were a housemate of mine back then.

Donna The Buffalo, THE ONES YOU LOVE. Sort of a pop/old-timey? fusion.
Featuring Tara Nevins from the Heartbeats Rhythm Quartet (RIP).
(Maybe I just love the cheesy organ sound. Nobody uses a cheesy organ
any more.)
