I haven't been dropped today but I've had my connection freeze
for long enought ath I've been surprised when it comes back.

Right now, ffor example, I'm typing ahead about two lines.
(so sorry if the latter half of this response is mis-formatted..)

(nothing I've typed since "for l" on the second line has shown up yet..

What causes the system freezes that sometimes recover after a minute or two,
and sometimes drop my connection? The latter just happened.

It's the same DSL problem we've been having for several weeks now, Rane. I
got bumped off twice last night, and gave up and dialed in. Has anyone been
bumped off while dialed in?

I have not been dropped while dialed in, but could not get to outside sites
last night. You may be dropped because your connection times out.
We have what appears to be a DSL modem at Kiwanis rummage sale, don't know
for sure and can't test it because we do not have a DSL line. I could loan
it to you for an indefinite period. You would probably want to test it on
someone's private line first.
