Hmm, guess this has become my soliloquy.
Uisce Beatha, THE MYSTIC OF THE BAJA. Eastern Canadian Irish-style
mandolin-driven acoustic folk rock. Leslie hates the singer.
(Hey, Leslie, at least it's not The Whiskey Priests!!)

Right now I have access to a cassette deck while I'm on Grex, so I've put in
my Ice Cube mix tape. I've found that it's hard to listen to any particular
one of his albums, so I've grabbed all of the cuts that I enjoy, and put
them on a 90 minute tape. The one drawback is that I don't have a copy of the
unedited "Check Yo Self" remix. Piddlings.

I'm listening to Del's "I Wish My Brother George Was Here". Power put it in,
but I haven't removed it, and it IS my brother's, on loan to Power via moi.
Someday I'll listen to some hard techno while on Grex. Or maybe some G'n'R.

Re# 186 Check yo Self as in the Grandmaster Flash "The Message" mix, or the
one I have, which is unedited, Parental Advisory, and never got played on
96.3?

re #189: The "message" mix. I have the album, but that particular mix, along
with most of the album, blew. I wish he had released "When Will They
Shoot?" instead. THAT would have been an awesome video. As it was, we
were subjected to Das Efx singing BACKUP! Ugh!

counting crows concert on Feb 19? Should be good...saw Counting Crows on
SNL last week and they seemed good live. The alex chilton big start nod
was nice. Credentials seem in order. Has anyone heard the album yet?

"counting crows"? Sure, I'd listen to them, but what about Cracker? That's
who I'd go to see! I liked a lot of songs from their first album, namely
"What The World Needs Now (Teen Angst)" and "Happy Birthday To Me," but I
think they were really experimenting with humor that album (haven't heard
it, and I don't know what I'm talking about). "Low" IS the song now.

Well, this is THE concert. Tix are only $10, genl admission. Someone
told me that the members of Cracker used to be Husker Du which really
surprised me, because I don't consider myself a Husker Du fan. But
I love everything I've heard from Cracker so far.

The lead singer of Cracker used to be the lead singer of Camper Van
Beethoven. The only ex-Husker Du person I know of is Bob Mould, who
fronts the band Sugar. Does amyone know if there are any ex-Husker Du
members in Cracker? That would help explain why they seem so talented.

Re#190 I have the other mix, if you wanna borrow it, holler. I like it..
"When will they shoot" was really cool. I loved the "We will rock you"
Beat complete with Foot-stomping and and clapping. Very good.
The Das EFX gets real tiresome, altho some of their stuff is pretty good.

I thought the first Cracker album sucked big rocks. "Low" is decent,
though. I'm quite certain there are no ex-Husker Du members in Cracker.

Kristen Hirsch "Hips and Makers" It's an uneven acoustic album when
her lyrics are GOOD they're good and when they're BAD they're bad. I like
the cello and the sound of the album, but overall I think I like her Throwing
Muses stuff better.
