Tori amos rocks. Her God video frightens me though, I don't see how she
withstood being covered by rats and snakes.

Pink Floyd kicks boodie! The blinky light on the Pulse CD has yet to go out
after almost a year.

Hey, I have no problem letting rats crawl all over me, I do it
all the time. Admittedly, I have to... >8)

Pink Floyd is by far my favorite band. There isn't a thing they wrote that
I haven't loved. Which is rare.

I still love Ani DiFranco with all my heart. And Casey Scott, whose album is
no longer in productions, which sucks because it was so rare and wonderful
and deep. I miss Guadalcanal Diary... anyone know how I can get ahold of their
CDs?

New name for Ace of Base= Waste of Space.. :)

Abba revamped and just as bad

response 183 of 255: Mark Unseen   May 6 18:41 UTC 1996

Hey now, do not taunt Abba. We still have their 8 tracks. I had an Abba folder
I took to school, which made me the envy of the 3rd grwde class.

Comparing Waste of Space to Abba is like sacrilige.

I love Tori Amos and Pink Floyd...sick to death of Alanis... Tori's video
for "Caught a Lite Sneeze", however, makes me dizzy. =)

I heard Brian Eno's "Thursday afternoon" again; the first time I
heard it was back in 1989, but I remembered the title since it was
so wonderful. Eno described it as a "sonic tapestry", which is a
pretty accurate statement. I can't quite describe it, but can say
that it makes for an excellent background for thinking, or falling
asleep. It was just wonderful--I'm going to have to get a copy.

re # 186 Eno is *very* talented check out his album "Another Green
World" with John Cale and Robert Fripp, or before "Berfore and After Science"
which he did around the same time he was producing albums for Bowie and
the Talking Heads.
As for Alanis Morrisette she is a pale streaked xerox copy of P.J.
Harvey or Diamanda Galas. Furthermore Tori Amis is a pale copy of Kate
Bush. <Waits for the hords of Tori Amos fans to fire up their flame
throwers>

I have seen Tori's video for "Talulah", and I *do* like it. =)
Don't worry, Raven; Everyone is entitled to an opinion in my book. <g>

I dunno, Tori seems to draw more on life experiences... I mean "Me and a Gun"
is about her being raped, which she was by an acquaintance. That is brave
to share it with the world... something so tragic and horriblle.

Re #'s 186 and 188: Eno's "Taking Tiger Mountain by Strategy" is my
personal favorite of his, and worth a listen if you haven't heard it. My copy
seems to have evaporated, however. *sigh*

I do think that Tori wines too much though. I should have expressed earlier
that I like tori's 'MUSIC' not lyrics. I don't like her attitude towards men
eithor.

Well, peacefrg, the woman was raped by a "friend". Can you blame her for maybe
being bitter? She never said "all men are scum". There are certain guys she
apparently can't stand, but aren't there women you can't stand too?

Hmm, I'm familiar with all those folks, and enjoy listening to
them, but... Who is Yanni?
freida
response 198 of 255: Mark Unseen   May 18 00:22 UTC 1996

Like George Winston, who does some outstanding piano composing and playing,
Yanni is a greek who resides somewhere in Washington State. Some of his stuff
is truly bizarre, but some of his stuff is so joyfull and relaxing...You can
find both of their stuff in the _New Age_ section of your local record (oops!
I mean) CD store. Let me know what you think.
