I wonder if Chelsea had flipped tails, she would have won?
She's got a second chance. Will she log in before someone else
gets it?
I'm pretty sure I've eliminated all of the letters in "slide", so
I expect rcurl to respond "0" on that one.
I'm still thinking...

She has indeed been here but now knows "heads" is a loser too.
(Grumble, grumble.)

Hmmm. Well, it seems that we've proven that the 1st two letters are di,
and we've elimiated a lot of the letters in positions 3,4,5.
Maybe we should scan through the dictionary?

I did and came up with dials and disks. Far as I can figure
it has to be D I _ (T) or (S). So my logic must be off somewhere.

heads 0 chelsea .. just joking - doesn't count ;-)
The word is in my American Heritage Electronic Dictionary. Should
I be thinking of hints?

I found it in the AHED3 too. Somehow it seems like cheating, so
I'll disqualify myself for this round. It's a good word.

It may be that letter.match will succumb to high technology. AHED3 takes
the dictionary-pawing out of it - at least for words in it. But looking
for words *not* in it doesn't seem to be in the spirit of the game. Let's
roll this round up, and consider whether we should take a rest. And maybe
find a new game. Letter-Match will still be a great game for keeping
the driver awake on long drives (laptops not allowed)!

If somebody wins, and wants to think of a 5 letter word, I would be willing
to play on. It's obvious that interest has dropped pretty low though.
I had a lot of fun with it while it lasted. Thanks Rane.

We could escalate the game and think of 6-letter words.

And Steve gets the FIVE BIG CIGARS (but you can't smoke them at the
homes of lots of grexers...). I said I'd freeze this Item when this
game was concluded...but then I thought, why bother? If anyone wants
to play 5-Letter Match, they can keep this going - or even start a new
Item. In the interest of economy of Items, it makes sense to leave this
one open. I presume (unless he acts otherwise) that srw is not obligated
to enter a 5 letter word, but if he does.....;-). Now, let's go have a
look at what's happening in 6-Letter Match:

Well, my house is one of those that doesn't abide smokers, so thanks,
but I'll pass on the cigars. I am virtually always thinking of a 5
letter word, so if anyone wants to guess, this would be a good place
to post your guess. I won't be offended if it doesn't happen,
'cause I'm having plenty of fun looking for 6 letter words.
