Priorities in life:
1. Friends (girlfriends included)
2. My twinbrother (family)
3. Respecting each other
4. Without 3 love cannot exist, love
5. Job
6. Travelling
7. All of the above together would make me really happy.

So many people do not realize that love cannot exist without respect first...
Looks to me like you have things in order...
I need to check my survey and find out how things are going...post in a bit!

Some of these things are a bit unclear, though. Does "job" mean that
your priority is "keeping your boss happy" or "not getting fired" or
"a job that is interesting and challenging" or "money from my job" or
what?

3. Career
2. Immediate family (i.e. wife, pets)
1. Regular trips to the bathroom (I mean, I can go on a trip and not
see my wife for a few days, but can't do without this one...)

Probably if someone lists "job" or "work" they are referring to the sense of
accomplishment (Maslow's 'self actualization') they get from whatever it is
that they do.

I would like to encourage anyone new to this cf to use my survey program for
this item...I would like to get a few more responses before I kill the
program.

response 26 of 47: Mark Unseen   May 25 16:33 UTC 1996

Last time I ran the survey, it gave me only *one* choice, no way to add
comments... Damn hard to put down one top priority without it sounding like
your overriding goal in life.

True. I forgot what I put, but was like "wait! I'm not a selfish person!!"

Re #24: Can you expand on the difference between friends and a
social life? What, for instance, would it mean to have one but
not the other?

What I will say when asked what is important:
Family
Work
Friends
Various other interests

Where my time goes when I need to make decisions on how to spend it:
Work
Family
Finding time for myself
Friends
Various other interests.

Hmm... I've been doing a lot of thinking about my last response, and decided
I'm not very happy with it. The ranking I gave things in there are in the
order I allocate my time in in everyday life. Still, if there were a
situation where at a particular time my family really needed me, and work
really needed me, there is no question that my family would come first.

response 34 of 47: Mark Unseen   Jan 7 13:43 UTC 1998

Using your list it would in my case be:
Friends
Family
Various
Work

in spending actual time:
Work
friends
various
Family
Zis is not very good

response 35 of 47: Mark Unseen   Jan 8 23:51 UTC 1998

I'd have trouble deciding on this one -- I mean, I'm the sole support of my
family, so choosing between family and job would be hard. One depends on the
other. And my family consists of a son living with me, a son living in
Europe, and a husband who is a newcoewr to the family unit. What they need
from me is very different. So family wouldn't work as a single unit.

*sigh* I guess I juggle priorities and whoever needs me most right now comes
to the top of the queue.
