Nope. This movie has a rather speculative setting.

Looks like we need another hint...

OK, we have the line being said by the bad guy, who is bald, in a recent
movie. The bad guy is played by Dennis Hopper.

Oh. Well that would be Waterworld, then?

Yup. There are some better quotes from that movie, but I thought the one I
used was pretty cute...The bad guy going to interrogate this little girl, and
clumsily attempting to play "good cop".

Ok, I'll try to have a quote soon...

response 156 of 178: Mark Unseen   Oct 28 22:08 UTC 1995

Sorry for the delay - here you go:

"Something seems to be troubling you, dear, won't you tell us
    all about it?"
   "Start at the beginning..."
"Yes, yes, and when you come to the end, stop."

sounds to me, actually, like something douglas addams would say...

More like Lewis Carroll.

Yes, Scott is right - the quote is from Alice in Wonderland (the Disney
version). You're up, Scott!

response 160 of 178: Mark Unseen   Oct 30 17:29 UTC 1995

Gahh... I didn't want it to be that easy... Shouldn't I have at least said
where the quote was from?? :)

Ok, I'l have a quote in a day or so. It'll be a long one from a semi-obscure
film, although Grexers are more likely to know about it than most people. :)

just for the record, was it the Cheshire Cat who said it?

response 162 of 178: Mark Unseen   Oct 31 01:01 UTC 1995

It was the Mad Hatter and the March Hare.

response 163 of 178: Mark Unseen   Oct 31 12:05 UTC 1995

Ok, I picked a shorter quote from the same movie...

"Ah...Interesting place! The king and Queen are charming. You know about
their detachable heads, don't you?"

scott

Well, on the *way* to the moon, but I think it's close enough. It's a pretty
obvious quote to anyone who has seen the movie. I rented it last weekend,
and was pleased to discover that it was better than I had remembered.
