for some reason grex is exaggeratedly
        fast right now.

A couple of times hwen I've logged in lately, I've gotten the message:

Logged out by the system.

However, I don't get logged out - the system continues as normal.

Also, sometimes when I start up bbs it says htat there is one new (response)
item even though the one it comes up with is one I've already read.

Perhaps the staff aren't aware of the problem with the participation files.

The only problems I've seen lately have been the DSL issues. I haven't
noticed disks being full (presumably I'm on a different homedir partition)
  or corrupted participation files (ditto..)

Participation files get corrupted when picospan tries to write to a full
partition.

For various reasons, I've not been spending time on cleaning up the trash
lately. I used to make some progress every week, but I've not had time
the past few weeks. So /d filled up.

Staff got a message about it earlier today, so I freed up a few percent.
Right now, /d is at 97%. I'll try to make some time to clean up some more
over the next few days.

Is grex sufficiently "un-ancient" such that it could have some "critical
health" monitors established, to notify staff automatically for certain
conditions? On work, the SiteScope product is in place to do that kind of
thing...

A better place for that might be NextGrex.

I use Big Brother for that at work, but for a single machine it'd be
overkill.

Maybe you should be a bit nicer to staff, Todd. While I really doubt they'd
shirk responsibilty, it really looks cheap that you're a complete twit except
when there's a problem you want fixed.

  re #172:
I hope that I'm not on anyone's "complete twit" list. I'd hate to think
I rate more than 80% twit..

That said, would someone on staff kindly attend to the full user partition
on /d? I'm sure tod's not the only user affected.
