The Thai restaraunt out toward Ypsi Mark was thinking of is called
Tuptim. We scheduled it, they were closed for a family emergency that
day, and we went to Cottage Inn instead. We need to schedule Tuptim
again.

I love Thai food. The stuff I can actually eat, anyway.

Missed yet another walk. Still a bit too sick, and still have a bit too
much else to do. Maybe next week....

Exceptionally cool weather for mid-May, and mostly cloudy too.
It seemed more like fall weather. The walkers, in approximate order
of arrival, were: danr, mary, remmers, aruba, krj and Raisa.
The debriefing attendance was remmers, aruba, krj and arabella.
The Creekside is good for the debriefing, in that there are lots of
movable tables and it's not too crowded, so dealing with a group
of unpredictable size is not a problem for them. But it's on
the pricey side of places we go. I enjoyed the peel-and-eat shrimp.
arabella was not so crazy about her barbecue sandwich. Any other
reviews of the food?

I liked my ham sandwich and clam chowder.
It *was* nice walking weather, but not the kind I'm accustomed to
in mid-May. As Ken said, it felt like autumn.

Went to sleep too late on Friday night, or rather Saturday morning, to
make it to the walk Saturday. Maybe I'll be able to bring the Loki-
monster this coming Saturday.

Did the walk lunch ever visit Cosmic Garden on Washtenaw near Hewitt in
Ypsi? If so, we'll have to delete it from the list as it's out of
business. The new occupant of that former Taco Bell at 2333 Washtenaw
is a Middle Eastern place called Al Noor. Chris and I have eaten there
twice now. The first time, I had a very nice Falafel sandwich for
under $5. The second time, I had an entrée with chicken and rice and
choice of soup or salad. Lots of food for under $10.

Al Noor has wonderful Riz bi Djaj and Shawarmas. Second only to
Jerusalem Gardens, but with a much more Lebanese than Israeli taste.

That's not too too far from my place. I still haven't gotten around to
heading over there and giving them a try.

Where is Del Rio? There is a chance I may get into town in time to make
lunch. :)

Well, we're still at about 50% for Del Rio being closed for lunch. Yesterday
we (aruba, kaplan, scott, and Raisa) ended up at Grizzly Peak next door.
The old 5th Avenue Deli location (5th & Liberty) is now home to another
attempet to break the location's curse: "Lazeeza Cafe", which is more
Mediterranean food. Hopefully it'll still be around next month and make it
onto the schedule.

I wonder which is a more cursed location for a restaurant ... 5th &
Liberty or Hill & State?

The dogs and I were joined at this weekend's walk by danr, Raisa and
Aruba. Before this, I had missed two walks in a row. I'm very happy
to have the walk routine back.

I showed up late for the walk, spotted cars that might or might not
have belonged to Jeff and Aruba, but didn't feel up to running after
them, and went home. Which turned out to be for the best because the
level of insanity back home was sufficient to keep me fully occupied.
I will keep trying to make a walk. The general level of insanity in my
life does seem to be gradually ramping down.

Walkers for the June stroll in Bird Hills Park were, in approximate
order of arrival: scott, krj, aruba, Carol, danr. Lots of fish and a
few turtles were spotted at Barton Dam, as well as an artwork project
which put clay (?) faces onto several of the rocks below the dam.
Scott led us on some new side trails after we re-entered the park
from Bird Road; it's a good thing he knew where he was going, because
I think the rest of us were lost.
I had to skip out on lunch.

The lunch place was unexpectedly closed, perhaps due to the African American
Downtown Festival half a block away. So we left a note on the door and got
ribs and red beans & rice at the festival.
