re. 12: wikipedia will no longer use images that are specifically licensed
to it. the image either has to be in the public domain or released under one
of a number of free licenses.
since this would mean pretty much anyone could use grex's logo for pretty much
anything they wanted, it's probably not a good idea.

Wikipedia allows images that are copyrighted if they are used in a way
that conforms to fair use. This includes logos of companies.
See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Logos
I just thought it would be polite to ask the Grex BoD first.

"Generally, logos should be used only when the company and its logo are
reasonably familiar (or when the logo itself is of interest for design or
artistic reasons)", and so it fails the fair use test.

You don't think the Grex logo is reasonably familiar to those familiar
with Grex?

Probably not to most of them, but it's talking about the general public, not
the Grex public.

Is the logo of some small community college in Monroe, Michigan
reasonably familiar to the general public?

Anyway, I feel that Grex's logo would meet Wikipedia's guidelines. If I
am wrong, it most likely will get deleted.

Re. 21: The image violates Wikipedia's policies because it contains a slogan
when a version without a slogan is also available. However, note that
Wikipedia's image policies concerning fair use of institutions of higher
learning and corporations differ.

In any case, the image is unlikely to be deleted, but unless Cyberspace Inc.
releases it to the public domain or under some sort of free license, it
definitely violates Wikipedia policy on fair-use. But I won't do anything
nasty like go out of my way to post {{copyvio}} on it or nominate it for
deletion or whatever. Instead, I'll give you a tip: even though Wikipedia
generally recommends uploading images to Wikipedia Commons, they don't
actually accept fair-use images, and so the logo will stand less of a chance
of being deleted if you just post it on en.
