So is there anything structurally wrong with "verbified". Just as an
item can be "colored" or "colorized", one is the act, the other is
the process.

Put me in for some maniacal mandolining and possibly a little guitaring
and singing. I've actually got an hour or two of performable material
to choose from (generally performed with gusto, but only at parties. This
sounds like it will qualify!)
Are you going to post a time/place/program here? How many people will
the place hold (so i can invite my mom, family, friends, etc. - my mom's
a grexer, btw).

Nothing like a recital to get me active in here! I remember last summer a
grex song, it's somewhere deep in the poetry confrence, anyway I'd like to
revive that if anyone will join me. (My singing voice is abusive) If anyone is
up to it E-Mail me

The time and place has already been posted somewhere around
response #80. Programs will be available at the recital.
Those who wish to participate should think in terms of maybe
10 minutes or so of performance time, a little more or less
depending on your needs and how many folks end up taking
a turn.
Again, I'll be asking everyone to be more committed and specific
around the last week of May. Time how long you'll need. I'll
add up everyone's times, and if the stars are in alignment, the
program won't take much tweaking.

I'd like to play something on piano, but I'd probably get all shy and choke
in front of all you new people. (I'm *very* shy when it comes to meeting new
people...)

I bet you couldn't pick a more supportive crowd than a Grex audience, coyote.

It is recital fare in the looser sense, so I will offer to do some Mark Twain.
I need to know how many minutes, and type, don't need to know until the last
minute. Only problem, I am not sure about the date, I may or may not be
sailing then. I will know more toward middle to end of May. But, keep me
posted on it. Sounds like fun. Ben Helmke

Hey, if the Grex Recital is a success, a Grex Recital II can always
be scheduled.

Saw it in the MOTD, finally got around to reading it.
Now, it wouldn't be a poetry reading if Grex' self-proclaimed Poet
Laureate (all right, so I'm arrogant, but at least three other people
have called me Poetry God, so nyah =P ) weren't there to wax eloquent.
count me in, Mary. I have plenty of short stuff to fill in gaps
while people are tuning and such, too, if such is needed. I also
have a wonderful story to tell, if people don't mind sitting through
Norse mythology in a modern tale (i.e., something I wrote involving
Norse deities). It's about five minutes or so if I just tell it, a bit
more than that if I draft people to play the parts. 8^)

cool. I'd like to hear all of the above. Not that it would make any
difference if I didn't, but I do, anyways. :)

I could do some of my poetry, but it sounds like the poetry camp
is well represented. So I shall do some ragtime piano of the
Joplin/Lamb/Scott variety.

That's a nice thought, Meg. The recitals I've attended at
this location have included a punch and cookie thing afterward
but with this crowd and the fact the room needs to be clean and
ready for another group by early evening I'm thinking a debriefing
at a nearby restaurant (inexpensive and casual) might be better.
Anyhow, I'll be looking into this and get back here. Suggestions
are welcome.
