There are plenty of British comic book heroes, Dan Dare comes to
mind, but I can't think of any musical types with that name.
Maybe Modesty Blaise? Maxwell the Magic Cat? >8)

I, the ultimate Duran fan would know this! Stephen "Tin Tin" Duffy. You might
remember his hit "Kiss Me" or "Icing on the Cake"????? Hmmm...next question...
This British group maintains a huge cult following worldwide while still
recording with a new lead singer. Their original lead singer, named after an
animal, now has a solo career. They had only one really big hit in the US in
the 80s. (Hint: it was a woman's name) Additional hints: They opened for
Rush once upon a time...the lead singer is sometimes confused with a currently
popular" grunge" group. I hope you all can get this one!

Aaaaagh! I'm stumped, and probably shouldn't be. The only Brit with an
animal name and a solo career is -- ork, ork -- Seal, but I haven't the
foggiest what group he might've been in. Maybe UB40?

British... and I don't know my Brits from my Yanks! argh!
Cat Stevens? wrong years. Snoop Doggy Dogg? wrong continent.
Smokey Robinson? I think the bear came after. hmm... I'll
probably never figure out the singer, but since we're supposed
to guess the name of the group anyway, I'll take a stab in the
dark and guess... Gene Loves Jezebel.

(Yes, I did -- it was wrong. I can't go about guessing wrong, now can I?
Seriously, I don't know of anyone who fits the clues, and Seal was my only
kind of guess.)
The Fall matches a little, too.

anyway ... I think).
