An idea (I haven't read the whole item, someone might have alreaddy proposed
this): Have terminals available at the party, so out-of-towners who cannot
attend can converse (at least a bit) with attendees.

Regarding number 119:
Andy, I really like your idea about the Grex weekend with camping, biking,
hiking, and stuff. I would surely attend if at all possible.
I also like Rane's idea about someone "hosting" a Grex convention. They
could plan it and administer it however they would like. They could charge
whatever they like and have it wherever they like. If many people show,
great!
I don't think that there would be any problem with the board concerning this
as there have been Grex walks in South Carolina (?).

(randall apparently never watched nor read "Ripley's Believe It
Or Not." Kudos to those who *did* understand #127.)

Point of order c-man. I *DID* watch Ripley's... Problem is, it was so
long ago. So you are wrong, and I still don't get it. I suppose I'll just
have to by my Kudos at the store like all the other mere mortals.

The world's shortest correspondence occured when some author who I
don't remember wanted to know how his book was doing, so he dashed
off a letter to his agent with a single character on it: "?"
His agent replied, in like manner, with a single character: "!"
meaning that the book was a hit.
I wish I could remember the names of the people involved, but that
is really for another item.

I like the idea of a Grexchange (for those not interested in a "convention").
An informal gathering of lazing around or hiking/biking/etc. sounds
intriguing. What about adding canoing?

One summer Saturday, one day, I'd like to see if we can get the walkers
to do a canoe trip instead of a walk.

Why do I feel like I miss out on all the fun just because I'm kinda
east of A^2? I'd love to go canoeing too! Now, if I could only come
to A^2 for it... that'd be nice... why do things like work and classes
have to get in the way? ;=)

I am currently in Ithaca, New York... but unfortuantely a ride won't
get rid of all the work I have to do these days. I think it'll be
about a year and a half before I can take a weekend off and go on a
trip... well.. maybe less than that... depending on my luck... ;=)
I will, however, make it to A^2 one of these years! That's a promise!

I find it amusing that you describe Ithaca as "kinda east of A^2".
Me, I always thought of Ypsilanti and Detroit as being "kinda East",
but Ithaca?

Well, it *is*.
It's just more east than Ypsilanti. This brings up the possibility
of a whole new system of direction finding. Degress of eastness and
westness. Northness and Southness, too. But how does one measure such
a system? Is it linear or logarithmic?

And that can be found at the corner of Huron and Main, just so you
don't get it confused with some other seemingly "center" of the universe.

Hmm, I thought the center or the universe was on West Liberty, between
Third and Fourth streets.
