We just downloaded another OS called PTS-DOS which a helpful grexer from
Ukraine suggested and it was small, easy to install, and seems to work. It
boots with himem and emm drivers already installed and leaves 625K free
conventional RAM and will let you put 10 OS's on your computer and switch
between them. Since we don't have more than 3 we cannot test this feature.

AASF has approved my proposal for increased compensation, I was asked to
take part in a staged reading at JET (which I had to turn down because I
am already scheduled to be in Columbus, OH at the time), and I'm going to
see three plays this weekend:

        Elephant Man (Planet Ant)
        The White Rose (Performance Network)
Iolanthe (UMGASS) (actually an operetta, not a play)

Should IBHB I'm not one of those who're depressed? (Alcohol and
everything, I seem to be pretty resistant to it.)

IHB my spring cleaning has shown that some newsprint-covered hills in
my living room are actually a loveseat and a chair! (All the non-9/11
related stuff has gone to recycling, the rest to a storage crate.)

IHB UMGASS is showing Iolanthe this weekend, which I adore and is difficult
to find.

re #129: Yes, you should be happy you're not depressed, and you should
say so here as an example to those of us who are, so we can be reminded
it's not always as bad as it seems sometimes.

I might just have found a research assistantship for the summer doing
linguistics and brain imaging. I doubt I'll get paid for it, but it looks
like it might be cool enough for that not to matter.

I was happy last night; we had our taxes done at H&R Block and came out
about $3000 ahead of what we had expected.

IHB I got a new keyboard today. I spilled marinara sauce on my old one..
marinara sauce and keyboards do not mix well. I know, I shouldnt be
sitting in front of the computer while eating dinner but old habits die
hard! and hey the new keyboard's nifty anyway

You can eat near your keyboard. Just be careful. :)

They make plastic tablecloths for keyboards. The library uses them.

response 148 of 1000: Mark Unseen   Apr 6 23:21 UTC 2002

My sister sent me a card. The cover is a photograph of a
little girl of maybe 18 months of age. She is wearing a bib
but it hardly matters as she has chocolate all over her dress,
her face, her hair, hands and arms. She is as focused on her
task as any face I've ever seen.

Inside:
          See the chocolate.
          Taste the chocolate.
          Be the chocolate.

I love that card.
