what is "lades?"
scott
response 144 of 861: Mark Unseen   Apr 23 11:04 UTC 1997

"He lades the boats with wheat"... lade being a variant of load. It is a
legit word, althought not the word we are looking for (the 'a' has already
been eliminated)

Hmmm..the *Common* Word Game, huh?

response 146 of 861: Mark Unseen   Apr 24 02:08 UTC 1997

aihaven't found it in any dictionaries as a variant of load. Lade being
past tense, and -s being a present tense kind of suffix...ai kinda doubt
it really works.

lade is a verb meaning "To put a load or burden on". F&W New Coll. Std. Dict.
The word is still used in the transportation industries. He/she/it lades.
