maybe grex should move in with hvcn. HVCN is much smaller than mnet and
in a way would complement grex, whereas living with m-net would only cause
political problems because they are competitors in a sense.

Since some members of grex staff are also hvcn staff, there would also be
more of a comfort level. Question is, does HVCN have room for a roommate?

As far as I know, HVCN doesn't even have their own computer yet.

Re 122 - Yes, there most certainly were people who argued that
way back when. I don't know if they still feel that way.

I believe that's correct -- HVCN occupies a portion of one of
Isthmus Corporation's (an ISP) servers.

One possibility for Grex would be to move its computers in with
some ISP. Something to keep in mind, however, is the need for
Grex's staff to have after-hours and weekend access to the
hardware, as that is when the technical staff tends to have
the most free time to do system work. That's why Grex moved out
of the warehouse at Communications Electronics, despite the
otherwise attractive features of that location -- we couldn't
count on access to the equipment outside of regular business
hours. If Grex is located on the premises of some other
business, that business may be unwilling or unable to grant
that kind of access.

Don't most ISP's have staff on site or on call all the time? Maybe if
grex's ISP hired one (or more) of the grex staffers and gave that person
full-time access to the site as an employee...

Joining the Arbornet Board has certainly given new meaning to
"orgasmic frenzy" to me. Ooh! Move to ratify! Ah!! Move to
strike paragraph 4(c)(2) from the minutes!!

Heh. Every time I hear about Arbornet, I'm glad I'm not involved with it.

re not being on the Internet: I sometimes feels that it might be a good thing
not to allow incoming telnets to Grex.
