I'm bummed because my mother was in a bad car accident last night,
nothing broken (except the car, probably totaled) but she is banged up
pretty good, got a concussion, lots of bruises from the seatbelt and
cuts from the windshield. She's awful sore but seems to be ok. (she's
80)

Wow, I hope she is okay, Steve. I'm glad she survived. How did the
accident happen?

she's much better today, but really sore. I found out last night her
sister had a mild stroke last night (sigh) what is it with relatives?

Just a few minutes ago, Magnus appeared at the sunroom door, with a bird
in his mouth. (The sunroom has an exit into the backyard, and doors into
the family room). He was very adamant about bringing it into the main
part of the house. It was a female cardinal, alas, which we quickly
disposed of. This is his first kill, and I wouldn't be surprised if he
goes off for more, because he's been intrigued by birds since he was a
kitten. From now on, he's only going to be allowed outside at night.

He made not have been the culprit. The roommate who lives in the Anne
Room saw the bird this morning, dead. So I don't know if Magnus killed
it or not.

So he may have just found it and decided to claim the kill? ;) It's not
too bad until he tries to bring a still live one back into the house-
Alex did that once. He got MOST cranky when I wouldn't let him in.

Heh, the Anne Room, I like that. Kind of the the Rose Room or Lincoln
Bedroom. :)

Is it possible the Loki Monster killed the bird?

I would guess not likely, neither she nor Max seem all that interested
in birds. Though Loki will ocassionally eat spiders.

re #135 not all that interested in live meat? Is Loki a vegetarian or
something? :)

You can be a carnivore and still not like live meat.

You can also be a dog and not connect birds with food...

For cats, hunting is instinct. Actually eating the prey is taught! Weird,
but true.
