A .jpg file. A picture. Yes, I clicked on Browse and selected the only .jpg
in the directory, but still got the error message. I mailed it to you ifn you
want to be sure it's of the right type. Am I the only one who has gotten this
error?

I'm getting this error:
You have come to this page in error.
Sorry the special code you entered was not the same as the one expected
by the system. There are two potential causes
(1) you entered the wrong code
(2) the picture with the code that was displayed on the last page had
an old code, please try again.
I entered the code it said, so not sure what I'm doing wrong.

resp:11 - No, I tried a couple of times and received the same error,
that my file wasn't a jpg gif or png, even though it was a jpeg.
I just gave up, though.

It's still "beta", after all. Nice site, and I'm sure the glitches

I'm guessing the " file wasn't a jpg gif or png " has to do with the size of
the file. I just noticed that there isn't any indication on how big the file
should be when uploading. Working on that.
The error " Sorry the special code you entered was not the same as the one
expected" is a new one and I will have to let Mike know about that one. It
wasn't hard to see was it? What kind of browser were you using?
Same question goes for furs, who couldn't display the page. What browser are
you using?
I *did* notice a new file in the server in the uploads directory. A
'jeanne.gif' , something like that, but it's weird because I didn't receive
a email about it.

Oh, the picture I received was from furs ;) through the Uploads feature.
Talked to mike about the Uploads error and he's working on it. He says :
"The problem with the uploads appears to be an Internet Explorer specific
problem. Mozilla works fine, Netscape should work (I haven't tested it). IE
doesn't appear to be setting the file type correctly (if at all). I'm working
on it right now.
File uploads are limited to 300KB's if I remember correctly."

The upload feature just worked fine for me, with the same 11KB .jpg I
tried with errors, yesterday.
This new site looks wonderful, Morena! Kudos to both you and kornnut.

Re: #12 - This should be corrected unless you actually typed in an incorrect
special code. The problem was caused by the caching of the special code
picture. I've worked around the caching problem now and each time you go to
the page that displays the special code you should see a different picture
with a new code. I had fixed this a week ago but somehow (in my constant
work on the site from different locations) I overwrote some of my changes
including the workaround for the caching problem.

Re: #13 - This should be corrected for the most popular browsers (IE, mozilla,
netscape). This problem was caused by the fact that different browsers set
the file type differently. I was doing my development testing with mozilla
so I never saw a problem because I was only testing with one browser. If you
are using a browser other than the three listed, let me know and I'll test
and fix the problem for that browser. An adde FYI: lynx can't be used to
upload pictures because the special code is sent to the user via a picture.
This is done to keep the upload option available to everyone and make it
more difficult to script something to spam us with tons of pictures. If
spaming does happen we will probably have to take the upload option down.

Ok I got smart and instead of making multiple posts this one post will have
multiple responses:
Re: #16 - The file in the upload directory without a notification is probably
due to a bug where I don't delete the file if the user enters an incorrect
special code. I'll fix that tonight because it defeats the purpose of the
special code!
Re: #19 - Yep it should work, IE specific fixes went in just before you posted
here that you had success with an upload. Thanks for the Kudos.
Re: #10 - I sense a bit of sarcasm, but it's hard to infer such a thing with
these archane meta conferencing tools. ;)

I've updated the file upload on www.grexergallery.net. If you experience
problems please let me know via this item or via the forums at
grexergallery.net. The new upload page is less work for you (only one button
push to upload) and it has some more error checking.
