That makes it ?eniti, but nothing like that is in any dictionary I have.
It could be the latin plural of ?enitus, but I don't recognize such. I'm
stuck.

Hey, everyone. Since seniti got 4 while spined got 0, the word IS
?eniti. Guesses that don't fit that can't be right. The only thing
to do is work through the alphabet:

aeniti?

response 111 of 1007: Mark Unseen   Jan 31 17:31 UTC 1994

um. rcurl, this is a *six* letter word, so if I'm not mistaken, there are
still two letters unresolved...

finite?

rcurl, I don't believe aeniti is a word. Would you care to make another
guess?

Heh heh heh. I can't count at at 2 a.m. or so (when I first got confused.)
Thanks, carson, for bringing me to my senses. Well, if aeniti is an
unused word, I'll define it to mean the *quality of being brassy*. Now,
back to business:

Congratulation, rcurl!!! Whew, I was worried that if you started with
aeniti, I'd have to go through the whole rest of the alphabet before
you got to Z :) It's now your turn to pick the next word.

I really confused myself on that game due to a copying error I made.
I hope I didn't confuse anyone else.

In order to avoid the possibility of counting wrong, the person
running the game should use the awk script in my home directory.
Type !awk -f /u/srw/match.awk
(Thanks to davel for upgrading it)
It handles 6 letter (or any length) words.
It prompts for the secret word then loops
asking for each guess and guesser, and produces the counts
in a format suitable for copying/pasting into the response.

Type a ^D or . to exit.

OK, Ramblers, clear the field
A new word I'm going to wield.
Six letters it has, I do declare,
And its tricky, so do beware.
