gouge

(I believe there is a contradiction among prior responses, and have asked
remmers to review his responses, but not to comment on my logic. This
belief *often* arises in the oral version of the game - due to mislogic
of a player - but sometimes it does happen that a response is in error.)

I second Rane - there's a contradiction in this somewhere.

Oops, you're right: in response 105, I should've said

   mulch 0

Sorry!

gouge 5 (rcurl)

What's the rule in the oral version of the game when there's a mistake?

Anyhow, I guess Rane is "it"...

the mulch tripped me up; that's why I tried 'couch' - to test the h.

Mulch forced the known letters to be _ouce, but there are no such words
that I could find! Then house made it clear that a contradiction
existed. The alternative known letters were then _ou_e, which led to
loupe and gouge (but still with great unhappiness about that c!).

When a mistake shows up in the oral version, there is a great uproar,
and the driver must take care to stay on the road, especially if he/she
made the mistake and abuse is heaped upon him/her. Sometimes, though.
someone will say, are you *sure* that mulch=1?, and the correction is
then announced, and play continues. Has anyone tried this as a travelling
game yet?

You tried "couch", Katie? I didn't see a "couch".

Well, that's history. I guess its me again. I will try to pay
attention ;-).

I am thinking of a five letter word.

(Game rules are in /u/rcurl/lettermatch.rules. Prior guesses will be
kept in /u/rcurl/letter.march. The current word play begins in response
#114.)

That was supposed to be the file /u/rcurl/letter.match, where prior
guesses are being filed.
