Grexers on Stage -- Winter 2000 Mark Unseen   Feb 29 06:20 UTC 2000

This item, crosslinked between the Agora and Music conferences, is for
Grexers to announce their upcoming artistic performances.

If you don't want Grexers to show up, you can announce the performance
after it has happened. This *has* been done.

I'm scheduled to do some ragtime accompaniment for a ballet
recital on Saturday, May 13. More detail when I know more.

Sat, Mar 18, Katie Geddes and The Usual Suspects open for Mark Dvorak at
Mama's Coffee House in Birmingham; Sat Apr 1 we appear at Green Wood Coffee
House in Ann Arbor. We do folk, country-folk and folk-gospel music.

(John, are you by any chance doing "Great Galloping Gottschalk?")

I'm living my life as artistically as I know how. Does that count?

Grexers couldn't possibly show up to my concerts, unless they felt the
air trip was worth it, hehe

I was in a chamber guitar ensemble concert last Friday. My featured
solo was "Romanza," a traditional Spanish ballad.
(one of scores of tunes named 'Romanza,' btw-- Romanza simply means
song)

I don't know if this counts as performing - well, I guess it's performing,
in a matter of speaking. I'm still doing my radio show from 6-9am
every Saturday on WCBN, 88.3 Ann Arbor. My last show will be March 25.
This coming Saturday, I'm doing a Robyn Hitchcock tribute.

If you're in far-off lands, we have a RealAudio feed... www.wcbn.org

The trio I'm in (flute, violin and cello) is planning a family and
friends recital for the late spring. We'll be playing one of the
Haydn London Trios and C.P.E. Bach's Trio in B minor.

(Re resp:2 - I'm familiar with the composer Gottschalk, but what's
"Great Galloping Gottschalk"?)

A wonderful ballet choreographed by Lynn Taylor-Corbett (I may have the
name a little wrong). I saw American Ballet Theatre do it several years
ago.
