It's that time again. I'm having to drag myself to the
dealerships to see what used cars they have with some leg
room. So far I've looked at a Nissan Altima (it seems I do
not fit in the affordable Versa or Sentra). Depending on
what time the Honda dealership closes, I might try an Accord
too.

I went with a 2015 Nissan Altima. Although I have always
owned cars with a manual transmission, this one has a CVT.
It should be mechanically much more simple than a
conventional automatic transmission and it means my wife can
drive the car too.

The Ballmobile crapped out yesterday. Check engine light
came on and it stalled. I was able to get it started and
limp home across town. My preferred Nissan dealer is thirty
miles away (I don't trust the local one), so I may have to
pay for a tow on Monday and then pay for a repair (depending
on warranty).

resp:2 Hope the repair doesn't set you back too far.

Sometimes that check engine light is easy, sometimes
not. Good luck!

Thanks! They replaced the CVT control valve assembly
and a valve timing solenoid. Thankfully it was covered by
warranty so only cost me $100 out of pocket. I got lucky
this time.
