U-Con 1996 in October !
|
Aug 14 06:39 UTC 1996 |
U-CON '96 Needs YOU !
U-Con, Ann Arbors own gaming convention needs your help. We are looking for
game masters and volunteers to help out around the convention.
U-Con will run from Oct 25th through Oct 27th at the University of Michigan
Student Union. If you have any questions you can call (313) 930-6363, email
ucon96info@umich.edu, http://www.deathstar.org/~ucon, or ask me here. I'd
advise checking one of the other sources first, as I do not have too much info
at this point.

They just sent out flyers asking for people to run events at the con. You can
get more info at at the web page or at the email address I listed in the

Do you know what the games being run are? and what other positions there are?
and if there are any openings for a loyal hacker?
Or should I ask them?

Check out the webpage (the url is in an earlier response and the opening
paragraph) or write to the info address. At this point they are seeking people
to run games, so nothing is set yet.

This item has been linked from RPG 11 to Intro 93.
Type "join rpg" at the Ok: prompr for discussion of games
of many sorts, including role-playing games.
As a former staff member of U-Con, for four years, I'm glad
to see it's still going.

RE #12: It's a weekend long gaming convention. Games, a few panels, and a
dealers room. All here in Ann Arbor, at the UM student Union

What is "gaming" in the sense used here? I am visualizing a row of checker
boards. What other games are played?

Generally war games/simulations, role-playing games, and such
are the norm. I've never seen anyone play checkers at U-Con,
though I have seen a few games of chess during the six I've
attended.
(And collectible card games, can't forget those no matter how hard
I try...)
