Train whistle at the end of the Beach Boy's "Pet Sounds" is
playing as I type.. Other than that, nothing but the sound
of my keyboard clicking and my computer fan humming..

My co-worker snuffling (he has allergies big time), computer keyes clicking,
fan running, me munching Frosted Flakes, and some weird crinkly noise,
which I just figured out is his computer booting up.

ESPN on the telly, which is about the only sound you'll hear this
early in this apartment.

Dan! Another great item! :)

Seven or eight different printers, running at the same time at different
speeds, with different pitches.

A moderately quiet sea of keyboards clicking (I am in the middle of a 200
terminal computer lab).

A low chatter of voices, of different volumes, pitches, and languages.

The barely discernable squeak of the main doors to the lab, and the crash when
they slam shut.

Intermittent bursts of yelling or laughter.

The prompt <DING!> of the other power Macs around me.

Three people have coughed since I started this entry (that I've heard).

A lab assistant's keys jingling as she walked by.

Wow! I never realized how noisy this lab was!

I am in the basement with no windows or doors, and the only things to be heard
being my typing, and my computer. Otherwise, dead silence.

Hum of Mac IIci; voices from adjacent office (thin walls); air conditioning
hum and wind; clicking of keyboard; throat clearing (me); rustle of
book being opened to find the spelling of; - tinitus.

Lots of keyboard keys being typed upon! The white noise of some kind of fan
thingie at a level at/above the suspended ceiling. The occasional phone
ringing with our electronic-age warble.

Dishwasher. Key clicks - of course.

I'm not hearing a whole lot that's differant that that which was stated above
in various places: computer fan, TV in the background, furnace, etc. I can
tell you that their are really two sounds that I would like to hear: the first
is a train wistle, and the second is that sound of chirping crickets, one of
the reason for my choosen namesake...

Its 6:15 a.m., so the computer lab is pretty much deserted. There is a <huge>
kind of machine/vent/air conditioning/box-like contraption on the ceiling in
this room giving off a fairly noisy, but uniform whrrrr/hummmmmm....

quiet keyboard tapping....

a woman is almost hysterical with laughter, but trying *very* hard to hold
it in...she's making an odd squeaking/hissing noise that I don't believe I've
ever heard before....

a man just slid his keys across the table..cool sound.....

every time i even slightly adjust the way i'm sitting, my chair squeaks...

Thumping sounds upstairs. Someone's moving around. Slight creaks of the
house settling. Computer fan hum and key clicks. Tap turning squeak, water
running, pipes.

typing of other computer users and some fan or other probably connected
to the ventilation system.
